Tetra: Hello all. I come to you bringing a very sad story about Alan and Margaret. Yes it has something to do with her dieing. Tissue warning! But I hope you enjoy.

Alan looked back to that day when him and Margaret walked for hours in the California rain and just talked about nothing. They had left Don and Charlie to do their work, so Margaret knew what they were up to. It had been a hot morning, so the rain made it feel that much better. Holding each other close for warmth, they walked home, avoiding the lightning, thunder, and mildly cold wind. Alan just stared at the wind through his…Charlie's…window.

I'd memorize each thing you ever said
And on those lonely nights
I could think of them once more

Alan remembered how Margaret had a voice that could bring him to his knees. He remembered only a little about what she said that night. He remembered every 'I love you' and the occasional 'It's so pretty.' Alan beat himself up about how he couldn't remember some of her requests for the house. After that night, his head was filled with those three little words and they flooded his mind still.

So unaware I foolishly believed

But then there came a day
And I turned my head and you slipped away
Alan and Margaret talked most of that night about the future and what they had planned for their sons. They stayed on future subjects so much that Alan never thought that it would end so abruptly. He wanted it to go on forever. He never wanted this.

Alan looked at his wife as she hung on to her life. His tears kept going down his face as they hooked her up to even more machines and looked over her again. He remembered how they had said that nothing could be done for her, that she wouldn't make it. Alan couldn't bear to think of it. Watching her go…seeing the look on Don's face when she flat-lined…her last words…Charlie's face when he found out. He wasn't even there. That must have hurt more than ever. But looking back now, they all seemed to have made through it pretty okay. Alan smiled as he looked at the rain continue.
"If I had only known, I wonder what it would have been like."
