Valentine's Day

"Eh? Where's Natsu?" Mirajane just pointed to the door and said, "He left a while ago, saying he had to do something." Lucy scratched her head in confusion. He said they were going to pick a new job today to pay for her rent. Eh, it was probably something stupid. Again.

Lucy just went and spent the day with whatever guildmates were there. Many were missing. "Hey, Mira, where is everyone?" Mirajane smiled and told her it was Valentine's Day. Lucy looked around and noticed that everybody that had a partner, and some people that 'weren't official' (like Erza and 'Mystogan', Levy and Gajeel) were gone. Even Cana was gone. Geez, i'm pathetic... Lucy thought.

She was there until about noon, when the depression started to settle in and she went home. Maybe she could write a letter to her mom, writing always made her feel better. She could tell her that her daughter was dateless on the day of love and was a total failure.

When she finally wrote her letter, it was a disaster. Lucy could tell that she wasn't going to write a single (good) word today. Talk about writer's block.

Natsu had NO. IDEA. How to do this 'shopping for girls' thing. What should he get her? He couldn't get her a pen, even though he knew she loved writing. He couldn't get her food, because she'd think he thought she was fat. Trust me, he'd been researching this for a WHILE, ever since Mira taught him about Valentine's Day.

He decided to ask an expert. Who's better than Mira's own sister?

"Aw, that's so sweet! Natsu's getting something for Lucy, Caleb! Isn't that adorable?" Apparently Lisanna was on a date with a guy named Caleb. He was pretty tall, with dirty blonde hair. He was a morphing mage (like Lisanna) and belonged to the guild Blue Pegasus.

"Yeah, but what is he gonna get her? From what Lisanna told me about you guys, she sounds pretty hard to shop for." Natsu grabbed at his salmon hair. "I know! I wish she could just TELL me, but then it wouldn't be a surprise!" Lisanna nodded sympathetically. Then she turned to Caleb, grabbing his arm. "Tell him what you got ME last year! It was so sweet, and simple, too! I loved it!" Caleb rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. "Uh, yeah, I got her a bouqet of flowers and I took her on a picnic in Magnolia Park, under the Juniper tree." Natsu nodded eagerly. "Lucy would LOVE that! She loves flowers, and she EXPECIALLY loves the Juniper tree!"

It was official. Lucy was tired, and depressed, and ALONE on VALENTINE'S day. Then, she heard a knock on the door. It was Natsu.

Lucy was very surprised to see him standing there with a bouqet of flowers. He looked so adorable, wait, was he BLUSHING?!

"Erm, Lucy?" "Yeah, Natsu?" "Wanna go have a picnic by the Juniper tree?"

"I would love to."
