just a minor brain-fart here. hmf, my oneshots so far seem to be of the cute and cuddly kind...but i can't help wielding to the cuteness sometimes!

Dear Kami-sama,
I know that you are busy with answering people's prayers and ruling heaven and stuff, but I have a big problem. It's really important and I've tried everything else, so I'm writing to ask for your help. Please help me because I've always been good and nobody else can help. Kaoru-neesan is very sad. She used to be sad all the time too but now it's even worse. Now she won't even smile. Ever since Ken-ni went away. I try to ask where he went but I never understand the answer. I think he didn't want to go, though. I know he misses us. I think a bad demon must have taken him away. He used to play with me and make me feel better when I was sad. I want to save him, but I'm too little. Can you help him, please? Can you send one of your angels out to bring him back? It doesn't have to be any of the important ones, just enough to get him back so everybody can be happy again.

Thank you,
Ayame

Sano slowly folded the small note and put it into his pants pocket. He'd been caught slightly off guard when he had seen the piece of paper speared at the end ofa stick standing up in the yard. He supposed Ayame didn't know how to actually send her letter. The silly girl thought the fate of everyone was in her two tiny hands.

"Don't you worry, Ayame-chan." Sano mumbled as he walked through the dojo gate, nose pointed towards Katsu's. "I'm no angel, but I intend to bring him back if I have to use my fists to do it."

And so, he went more determinedly than ever into the rising sun, toward the long road to Kyoto, strengthened all the more by the small prayer.
