Far from the home I love

Far from the home I love

A/N: what Kari would be saying is in pink, and what Tai would be saying is in brown

How can I hope to make you understand, why I must do what I do?

Kari stood silently in front of her brother.

Why I must travel to a distant land, far from the home I love.

She had just informed him that her fiancée was being transferred over-seas, and that she was going with him

Once I was happily content to be as I was, where I was

Tai was taken back. Kari used to say, when she was younger, that she would never leave home, not even for love. How could she be leaving now?

Here in the home I love

He thought she loved it here, loved being with him, her older brother

Who could see that a man would come who would change the shape of my dreams?

Tai didn't want her to go. It was obvious that the man she loved meant something to her, but not enough to make a protective older brother like him.

Helpless now I stand with him, watching older dreams grow dim

She stood next to the blonde man, her fiancée. She didn't really want to go, but her love for him eliminated any other options

Oh, what a melancholy choice this is, wanting home, wanting him

Kari tried to explain how she didn't want to leave. She had to leave. Her love needed her

Closing my heart to every hope but his, leaving the home I love

Tai didn't respond. He didn't even look at his baby sister. He thought she was be selfish and uncaring

There where my heart had settled long ago, I must go, I must go

Tai doesn't understand Kari wept. He doesn't understand why I have to leave. I must go, I must.

Who could imagine I'd be wand'ring so, far from the home I love

Tai still didn't know how she could abandon all her youthful ideas for a man

Yet there with my love, I'm home

How can she think we wouldn't understand why she does what she does

Tai did understand. Though he had also sworn never to leave Japan, he had come close when Sora had joined an international tennis team, and had to move around the country. Still, he had remained true to his word, why hadn't Kari?

Why she must travel to a distant land far from the home she loves

Fortunately, Sora was the kind of person who understood the bond between brother and sister. Perhaps this man did not. Perhaps that is why Kari was leaving.

Once she was happily content to be as she was, where she was

She was happy here as a child, but, Tai supposed it was time to move on

Safe in the bosom of her family, here in the house she loved

Who could see that a man would come that would change the shape of her dreams?

Tai never would have expected someone like Kari's fiancée would come into his baby sister's life. He had always, along with many others, thought that Kari and TK would get together. However, after the accident, that hope was lost

Helpless now she stands with him, watching older dreams grow dim

Tai hoped that living with this man didn't affect the ways Kari thought

Oh, what a melancholy choice this is, wanting home, wanting him

Closing her heart to every hope but his, leaving the home she loves

He had thought she was being selfish, leaving him, concerning herself with only her fiancée's hopes and dreams. But it was normal; It was love

There where her heart had settled long ago, she must go, she must go

Who could imagine she'd be wand'ring so far from the home she loves

"Tai? You haven't said anything for a while. What do you think?" It was love

Yet there with her love, she's home.

"Kari, I accept."

So, what'cha think? I don't think it's as good as "Memory" but, to each his own. R & R PLEASE!

Disclaimer: Yep, s'pose I need one of these here, too. No, I don't own "Fiddler on the Roof". No, I don't own Digimon. No, I don't really own a pink elephant named Bob. He's really more of a purple.
