this was really fun to do, and ive missed writing really fluffy scenarios for robin and raven. ;_; So, hope you all enjoye!
Raven had grown accustom to the dark, long ago. Growing up having to keep her emotions in check, the dark was sort of a stress relieving setting, and along with her dark personality, a dark room just seemed to fit her. Unlike others, she did not fear it. No, more than ever, she welcomed it.
Which was why it wasn't a big deal to find the empath awake so late at night, alone in bed curled up with a book. She was not tired-there were many countless nights she spent staying up late. Maybe that just had to do with the fact she had woken up late today, affecting her sleep schedual.
Her sleep routine wasn't the only thing that was different, tonight. She was not alone-next to her, a figure lay curled together like a kitten, soft snores emitting from them.
That somebody was Robin.
The empath looked away from her book for a moment, to stare down at the boy wonder. He had always seemed so tense, during the hours of the day, but in this moment, he looked serene. Peaceful. This would not be the only time he had been so peaceful, for there had been past nights that the two would sleep together-or well, Robin would sleep, while Raven would read. But there were times where she found herself looking over his sleeping form, and find herself grinning. During the night, he could truly be free of himself. He did not have to be Robin, the Boy Wonder, but rather, himself. Richard. Dick Grayson. Spared of his mask, here with Raven he felt safe to be him self around.
Raven could say she felt the same.
They had always had quite the connection-now their connection was that of beyond just a friendship, and had developed into a relationship. Boyfriend and girlfriend, happilly. Raven could really say she was happier around him-and having a bond with him, she could tell he felt at ease with her. Espicially with sleep-Raven, for one, got the creeps of sharing a bed with anyone else and the possibility of them watching her sleep, so she could only imagine how poor Robin must feel.
Then again, she supposed she wasn't any better for watching him over.
With that thought in her head, she laughed to herself, returning to the pages of her book, content with hearing the soft snores of her beloved.
The comfortable silence dragged on for a while, until Raven could hear stirring next to her. She paused, looking back over to Robin, and made sure she wasn't being too loud to have awaken him. He shifted over to face Raven, and his eyes fluttered open, revealing two sleepy orbs of blue. He blinked a few times, and Raven could sense he was looking up to her. She looked down to him. "Sorry-did I wake you?" She whispered, reaching over to run her hand through his silky hair, let down from it's spikes, but still a cluter of bed head.
He yawned a little, but shook his head. "No... but I must wonder, why are you still awake?" He asked, shifting up a little, and Raven tried to get him to lay back down, feeling guilty of him waking up. "Please," She begged, putting a hand on his chest, gently shoving him back into the comforts of the bed. "Don't worry about it, just go back to bed."
He ignored her shoves, as he was now sitting fully up, and seemed more awake and alert than moments before. "Is something wrong? Did you have a nightmare?" He knew all about her worries of Trigon. He remembered the various nights of holding her, and comforting her, when she seeked out his comfort because of a nightmare. But that had been the past, and she hadn't spoken of any nightmares, recently. Still, that didn't mean he worried any less.
She shook her head. "I'm fine, really... don't worry. I'm just not tired." She pleaded, putting on a smile.
Robin let out a huff, as he sunk back down slightly. "You're sure you're alright?" He asked again, to which she nodded.
"This is... just a really good book." She smiled again, but to her surprise, a yawn cut her off, making her squeeze her eyes shut for a moment. Robin laughed. "That maybe, but you sound tired. And it's late. Come to bed." He offered, reaching out to touch her shoulder, in which she melted into his touch.
She let out a sigh, as she opened her mouth to speak, but closed it again, speechless. The thought was tempting, however... "Come ooon, Rae," This time he sounded more silly than anything. "You're so far away." She bit her lip at this. He was just trying to tease her-well, she wouldn't fall for it... not just yet, anyways. "And I'm so cold..." He was wrapping his arms around her now, his head resting on her shoulder, and he sighed. His breathe tickled her neck, and she could smell the taste of mint on his breathe from the toothpaste he used hours ago.
In times like this, it was almost hard to resist him. She felt a shiver run through her body, as a yawn escaped her lips again. She glanced over to Robin, who stared up at her with such an innocent smile, his bright blue eyes shimmering, even in the dark. A smile came to her lips, and she found herself giving in. "You're an idiot," She said affectionately with a small laugh. The empath turned to face him, and Robin just grinned.
"I know." He mumbled, and leaned over to kiss her temple. "But I'm your idiot."
Raven just sighed, shaking her head, as she allowed him to pull her closer to him, then down to the bed. Her head was rested on his chest, and his arms wrapped around her shoulders, holding her close. Raven stilled for a moment, as she closed her eyes. He was warm-and she could hear his heart beat underneath his chest. She smiled-he was so full of life. He made her feel warm, he made her feel loved-more than ever, he made her feel human. With him, she felt her most happiest-and her most sleepiest. The empath let out another yawn, feeling content on just laying here with him.
"Go to sleep, sleepy-head." She heard Robin mumble, as he traced his fingers along her back.
In this moment, she wished she had gone to bed with him sooner.
Raven was asleep in seconds.
