A/N: Heyy, so I've had this idea for a while. I know this chapter is really short but I just wanted to start the story to give me inspiration to continue. I also don't think it's very well written as it was rushed but I hope you enjoy anyway aha :)

Dylan left his canal boat and got in the car to drive to work. He was in a surprisingly relaxed mood after he had, the previous day, signed his divorce papers. In fact he was feeling more burden free as he started up the car, than he had every other morning since Sam had first told him about the divorce.

He knew this relaxed mood was due to his hope that now that he had signed the papers, he and Sam would be able to get along better. After all, that is what he missed most about them being together. The way she would tease him at every opportunity, the way her laugh would send shivers down his spine, the way that they could sit in silence for hours and still feel happy. Although Dylan knew that the divorce papers meant none of this would happen any more, he hoped he would be allowed to see some of these qualities from a distance, now that he had done what Sam had wanted.

He put on the radio and an old song came on. Emotions started flooding through Dylan as he started flashing back to the past. His eyes flooded as he remembered the first time he had heard this song...

It had been shortly after Dylan and Sam had first met when Dylan had been introduced as Sams mentor. One night they were both forced into going out with everyone from work, but it was clear that neither of them wanted to be there. Over the course of the night they had both separately excused themselves to go outside and had bumped into each other. They had began talking properly for the first time and had found out that they actually got along quite well as they both wound each other up.

They had agreed to leave the pub together and decided to go to the beach for some fish and chips. As they stood in the shop waiting for their order, the very song that had been on the radio in Dylans car had started playing. They had both commented on how much they hated it and had laughed about different parts of the song that were, in their minds, stupid. They spent all night on the beach, content with each others company and agreed to meet up again. Within 2 months they had began a relationship and the song in the fish shop, although hated by both, became their Song...

Sam at home was also listening to the radio when the song came on. Her mind too, was floating back to the happier times of her life as she stared down at the divorce papers with Uncertainty. Had she done the right thing? Was there still a chance for her and Dylan to be happy together, or had she mucked it all up? A single tear rolled down her cheek and she brushed it away. There was no use crying now, what was done was done. Even so she couldn't get rid of the feeling in the pit of her stomach that something was going to go wrong.

In the car, Dylan also had a tear running down his cheek. He sighed as he came back to the present day, wanting to stay in his memories for ever. Dylan was so preoccupied by his thoughts that he didn't see the lorry that was coming towards him until it was too late and with an almighty crash his car began to flip down the side of a ditch he was driving next to...
