It all started about almost a year ago. My best friend gave me a letter from the fire department. It said that I had been accepted into the fire academy to become a firefighter. At first, I thought why would they just give it to me now. That is crazy. My priorities have changed so much since I took the test. I had the love of my life and my life finally felt back on track. However, there was that little spark in me that said. Hey, why not. You somewhat always wanted this. Therefore, of course, I asked my boyfriend Matthew Casey, a firefighter himself about it. He was not too crazy about the idea. I was not expecting him to either. I was disappointed, dismissed his suggestion, and did it anyway. The decision that I thought was so small ruined everything in my life. I regret it every single day.
