Miroku Meets His Match

Disclaimer: I don't own InuYasha or its characters but the story is mine.

~ Introduction ~

Amy lives in the United States of America in the year 2008. She is a big InuYasha fan that doesn't miss an episode, and one of her favorite characters happens to be Miroku. She lives with her mother, and her boyfriend that is abusive to Amy. She doesn't say anything because he makes her mother happy.

Amy is 16, and in two more years she can legally leave home sure she could run away now but what good would that do. She was a kid in the welfare system never staying in one place long enough for anyone to truly care about her situation. What did it matter if she was hurt at home out of sight outta mind right? The $200.00 per month her mother received in food stamps was barely enough to make it for the month. I mean divided between three people for three meals a day for 30 days it was ridiculous but the government thought that somehow her mother would be able to cover the difference with her small $1,000.00 income.

This meant that her mother couldn't spend more than $6.00 per person per meal in any given day, and since meat cost at least $3.00 it left little to get vegetables, rice, or snack items so often they ate spaghetti since her mother could buy it in bulk. He had some money but he was paying alimony, and child support so he had nothing left to give to the household. What her mother saw in the man she didn't know all she did know was that she couldn't wait to leave.

She sat like she did every Saturday morning with the television on watching her favorite show InuYasha. She'd yell at Kagome to buy some decent clothes for the time period. She'd laugh at Sesshomaru's kicking his retainer Jaken, and Rin was absolutely adorable. She didn't get Kagome's infatuation with InuYasha or Ayame's with Koga for that matter she though both could do better. InuYasha and his obsession with Kikyo was another story altogether it was unhealthy to hang on to the dead the way that he did. But she could understand it too if it had been her grandmother who had passed she would be hanging on to her as well. But she couldn't understand his romantic feelings for something that was nothing more than dirt in the image of the woman he loved.

Amy felt bad for the women whose souls wound up inside of the dead priestess. How could a person that claimed they were holy harm others in such a way? In Amy's eyes, she was no better than Sesshomaru who blamed InuYasha for his father's actions of claiming a human female. Amy often though things would be so different if she was there she'd make sure she'd say a few things to each character no matter what the outcome of doing so would do. Miroku was the worst in her eyes how could a man who claimed he was a monk take advantage of people, and their fears. As well as take advantage of women by claiming his hand was cursed.

She loved many things that the author Rumiko Takahashi had written in the story of InuYasha but there were many things she disliked as well and she personally wanted the opportunity to change something's in the story to make it better. Like Sesshomaru's hatred of humans simply because they were human who hated someone simply because of what they were it wasn't like they had a choice of being born human. InuYasha's desire to wish on the jewel to become a demon he should be happy with who he is besides the wish was very selfish. Kikyo who held InuYasha responsible for her death even though it wasn't his fault, and forcing the man she supposedly loved to join her in hell once Naraku was dead that wasn't love. Koga's obsession with Kagome even though it was obvious she liked him only as a friend and was trying not to hurt his feelings the wolf prince was in serious denial almost as bad as Ayame's denial of him mating with her because of a silly promise.

Today was a lucky day her mother's boyfriend was at work, and it was a marathon where it started from the beginning, and the last one was going to show the new movie InuYasha movie 5: The final confrontation. Amy couldn't wait although something told her that the series would end soon after this movie just by the title alone but she was recording it with the old V.C.R her mother had bought, and lots of blank tapes so she could watch anytime she wanted until she got bored with it anyway. If her mother's boyfriend had been home he would have complained that she was too old for cartoons like she would watch kiddy cartoons this was Japanese anime it was totally different besides the material was meant for her age group didn't he know anything.

So she sat with her cereal of fruit loops, and milk watching the introduction to the very first episode of InuYasha. She shook her head when the centipede grabbed Kagome and dragged her down into the well. She smiled when Kagome got InuYasha out of the tree he had been pinned to for 50 years, and the first thing he did was complained that she had both lost the jewel, and broken it like it was her fault the centipede grabbed her and dragged her 500 years into the past. Really who would expect a demon to pop up out of an old dried up well, and grab them bringing them into the past with them?

The show was about to go to commercial break so Amy got up, and washed her dishes, and placed them in the drying rack in the sink. She returned just in time for the show to come back on but something was wrong with the picture. She sighed she would have to bang the old TV again but had to be careful not to break it they couldn't afford to replace it. It was a good thing there were plenty in the basement from when everything went HDTV. Many of the rich just threw away the old sets and upgraded so they had lots of the old TV's but they were heavy, and a limited supply so they had to make each last as long as possible. She touched the TV only to be burnt from the heat she moved her hand to the front, and the side since the back was hot. She hit the side of the TV three times before light filled the room, and she fell into the screen that she had leaned into. Not expecting the solid screen to give way she landed with a thud. When the dust cleared she looked around to see that she was in Kaede's hut she looked up at the old woman, and said, "Hi Kaede my name is Amy sorry to barge in I wasn't expecting to land in your hut."
