A/N:
Doing my English homework with my lovely friend Niranj :D
And writing too :P Angsty, this one.
So yeah.
Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter -_-
-naïve-
You were six. You believed in happy endings; in fairy tales and princes and loveatfirstsight. He was your best friend, even though he was seventeen. He was yourprince; the one who slayed dragons for you and tried so hard to give you your happy ending. He called you 'his princess.' He was your firstcrush.
-impish-
You were eleven, and just starting Hogwarts. You were excited, excited to learn about Charms and Transfiguration and Potions. You still believed in your happilyeverafter. He was your teacher, at twenty-two. He taught you to protect yourself (not that you needed much protecting; I mean, Harry Potter was your father.)
-hurt-
You were fifteen, and you had your veryfirst boyfriend. You were foolish and "inlove", and you didn't know Lysander was cheating on you. (With MOLLY, for Merlin's sake!) He was sympathetic. He let you cry into his shoulder and use up his tissues. He let you sob and scream and justcry. And yet you stillbelievedin fairytales. He was your savior.
-adventurous-
You were seventeen, fresh out of Hogwarts, traveling all over the world. You were a realist then, but one part of your heart still believed. Still believed in happilyeverafter. He wrote to you, and you wrote back, telling him about everything and everyone. He was your pen pal, your confidante.
-heartbroken-
You're now nineteen. You're home. You'd had enough adventures to last a lifetime, and you were ready to just come home. To see him.
Then, you find out he's getting married.
Married.
To your cousin Victoire.
Tomorrow.
He wasn't going to be your anything anymore. He was going to be hers.
Your eyes find his turquoise hair, and suddenly he's walking toward you.
"Teddy…" you plead softly, fighting back the tears. "Teddy…please."
"I'm sorry, Lily," And he does look sorry, he does. But it wasn't enough. He was still gettingmarried. He had to be yours, right? Only yours? He was your everything. So you hadtobe his everything too, right?
You love him…too bad it took you so long to realize.
"Teddy, please. Please! Let's run away, okay? Let's ditch the wedding, please, Teddy," And suddenly you're on your knees, begging him to take you back. You know what you're doing is wrongwrongwrong. But he can't, can't get married to Victoire.
(Because you're perfect together.)
"I'm so sorry, Lily…I am. Goodbye," And then, he left.
Teddy and Lily? Not anymore…
Now it was just TeddyandVictoire.
And then tears are running down your face.
Because suddenly you're not sixyearold Lily, laughing as Teddy pretends to kill the dragon and save you from your tower.
You're not elevenyearold Lily, sticking your tongue out in class while he reprimands you for not paying attention.
You're not fifteenyearold Lily, sobbing into his shoulder as he rubs your back and whispers soothing words in your ear.
You're not seventeenyearold Lily, fresh and young and happy and traveling everywhere, while he writes to you from back home.
You're just nineteen year old Lily, heartbroken…because he's not yours anymore.
And nineteen year old Lily doesn't believe in happy endings.
