Glaedr, you know they are having a Valentine's Day party tonight. Saphira said as she pawed the ground nervously.

Yes, I knew that. The golden dragon replied without looking up from his slumber.

Well, I was wondering…well…if you wanted to go with me.

Saphira, I am hunting tonight.

Oh…sorry for bothering you.

Saphira lowered her head and walked away. She was disappointed. Glaedr was the only dragon around besides Thorn who had already turned her down earlier. Murtagh was going with Nasuada, Arya with Oromis, and Roran with Katrina. She was going to be the only one without a date. A tear rolled down her face as she stepped into Eragon's room.

What's wrong Saphira? Her rider asked in a concerned voice.

No one wants to take me to the party. I've asked everyone.

Everyone? Eragon asked as a smile slid across her face. You haven't asked everyone Saphira.

Yes I have! I've asked Thorn and Glaedr and neither of them wants to go with me.

Eragon chuckled and buried his face in his hands.

It isn't funny! You don't have anyone either! Saphira snorted.

When Eragon laughed harder Saphira grew angry.

Stop laughing!

Eragon laughed harder and Saphira jumped onto the bed, pinning him down.

Little one I am going to-

Saphira, you are being stupid! You haven't asked everyone yet!

Who haven't I asked?

Me.

What? What do you mean?

I will take you if you really want to go. Eragon said with a smile.

Thank you Eragon.

Saphira lifted her claws off him and bit down on his tunic. She slowly lifted him into the air and dropped him onto her back.

Let's go. We are going to be late!

Alright Saphira!

The blue dragoness exited the room and launched herself into the sky. She flew for about a minute before landing in front of Roran's house where the party was being held. Saphira walked up to the door and suddenly became sad. She couldn't fit through the door.

Eragon, you go and have a good time. I'll wait out here for you.

Nonsense Saphira, we don't have to go.

What?

Let's go out into the forest. I'll spend the night with you.

You would do that for me?

I would do anything for you Saphira.

With that, Saphira launched herself into the sky and flew out over the forest.
