Author's Note: Well I decided to put the two chapters on one page... I know they're really short but bear with me all I wanted to do was get the point across of Australia finding out his name. I was upset that he didn't have one so I decided to give him one. I hope it suits him to what you all think of him.
Chapter 1
Australia, being called Australia his whole life, he never had a name... A real name. He never really bothered to find it out. He was perfectly content with being called Australia until he came across an old book in his grandfather's room. It turned out to be his mother's diary. He looked at it confused. His grandpa always told him, when he asked, that he did not own anything of Australia's mother's belongings. His grandpa would laugh and say, "Now why would I even care to have anything your mother owned?" Australia always believed him, even though he thought of his grandpa as a lazy, party drunkard. He would just walk away with his head down.
But today was quite a bit of a surprising day for Australia. First, the only food Australia liked that his grandfather didn't, was not in the fridge anymore. Second, when he went to ask his grandpa how it went missing, because his grandpa obviously doesn't like it, he was not in his bed. His grandpa is usually always in bed at this time. And last but not least, he found his mother's diary lying on the floor. He was in such shock, because after all these years of asking his grandpa, he had stopped, and now he finds this making the truth come out about his grandpa being a lying, lazy, party drunkard. But, for some reason, even after believing his grandpa for so many years, he was, in a way, not surprised to find the diary.
Australia bent down and picked up the book. He opened it up and started reading. Then, that's when he saw it. That's when he found out what his real name was. His name was: Hunter White, the country of Australia. His mother had put X and Os beside his name and it made Australia feel warm inside to know that someone loved him, even though she has been out of his life for a very long time, basically since he was born. Even though she left him with his grubby grandfather, Australia knew that she loved him.
Chapter 2
As Australia was reading the diary his grandpa walked in.
"WHA' ARE YA DOIN' IN MY ROOM YA NINNY!?" yelled his grandpa, obviously having been out drinking again.
"Y-y-you lied to me all these years... You told me you never owned anything of my mother's. How could you?" Australia asked sadly and then continued, "Wait why am I even bothering talking to you, I can smell the thick stench of alcohol on your breath. I'll talk to you when you can actually understand what I'm saying."
His grandpa hiccuped, "I'm naat -hick- drunk ya s-sissssy."
"Yes you are. Now I'm leaving. Go to bed grandpa and try not to throw up on the sheets this time."
His grandpa waddled over to the bed and collapsed onto it without even pulling down the sheets. He lay on the bed sideways, sprawled across it. Australia then walked out of the room with the diary and went downstairs to eat.
He set down the diary on the table and proceeded to find something to eat. He opened the fridge and remembered his food wasn't there.
"Crap, I have to find something else to eat..."
He grabbed some milk out and put it on the counter. He then walked over to the pantry, looked up and down, and found some cereal. He grabbed a bowl out of the cuboard above the pantry and set it on the counter with beside the milk. He poured the cereal into the bowl and added the milk. Then sat down at the table and began thinking about how he would tell the other countries his long forgotten name.
