Chapter One: The Beginning of it All

Harry Potter awoke on his cousin's birthday, to the noise of his Aunt Petunia yelling at him to wake up and not burn the breakfast. Groaning, he got up and reluctantly began his chores for the day. He had just started on the bacon; when he heard a knock on the door.

"Boy, go get the door." Vernon Dursley sneered.

"Yes, Uncle Vernon." Harry went and opened the door. A elderly woman was standing in the doorway, wearing funny clothes and had what looked to be a witches hat on.

"Can I help you?' Harry asked politely.

"No. But perhaps I can help you. May I come in and speak with you, your aunt, uncle and cousin?" the woman replied smiling at the young boy in front of her.

"Uncle Vernon, Aunt Petunia, Dudley, there is a lady at the door who wants to talk to all four of us." Harry shouted towards the cousin.

Petunia got up and walked to the door, talking as she went. "Who would want to talk to a freak like you?" she spat.

Petunia saw who was at the door and went pale. "Minerva, what do we owe the pleasure."

The woman gave Petunia a glare. "Don't Minerva me, woman." She spat venomously.

The woman called Minerva, came in and sat down. Vernon and Dudley looked downright scared while, Petunia just sat silently and waited.

Minerva turned to Harry. "Harry, I was against placing you with these people in the first place. I am here to tell you that you are a wizard, as was your father. Your mother Lily was a witch and they both went to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I am going to perform a diagnostic spell on you to see what blocks you have on your magic and then I will perform a charm that will tell me why Petunia, who is a squib is treating the son of her only sister like a house-elf." With that she pulled out her wand and waved it towards Harry. Words began forming in the air above him.

Minverva scowled. Silently she turned to the Dursley's to see if they had been enchanted.

DURSLEY'S ENCHANTED TO HATE MR. POTTER SO THAT HE COULD BE MORE PLIABLE FOR ALBUS DUMBLEDORE TO MOLD WHEN THE TIME CAME FOR HIM TO GO TO HOGWARTS.

DUDLEY DURSLEY HAS HAD HIS MAGIC BOUND AND IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE GOBLINS UNBIND IT AS IT WILL PREVENT LOSS OF MAGIC.

At this Minerva was furious. She called for a house elf to ask a goblin to come to Privet Drive and remove the blocks and curses right then and there. It was a matter of five minutes before a goblins silently appeared in the living room.

"How can I help you today Professor?"

"Remove all blocks upon Harry Potter and remove the bind to dudley dursley's magic and then remove the charm on the dursley's to make them hate Harry." McGonagall requested.

The goblin nodded and silently got to work, starting with Dudley. When that was finished he removed the charm on the dursely's prior to moving to work on Harry. He removed all the blocks on Harry and the change was noticeable, he was taller and more filled out for his age, though still skinny. And he no longer had need for his glasses.

The Goblin turned to Minerva. "He will need the horcux moved when he comes to gringotts and there is the matter of his parents will which Dumbledore sealed. The goblins will want to do an inheritance test on Mr. Potter and as he is the last of the Potter line, he can take up his Lordship at that time then as well." The goblins said. Minerva nodded her approval.

Petunia then took a look at Harry and burst into tears. "Harry! Forgive us. I would never have treated Lily's son like that even if her and I drifted apart. We will do better. You can have Dudley's second bedroom." She sobbed.

Vernon nodded, not able to put his apology into words. Dudley spoke up. "Mum? Harry and I will be roommates at Hogwarts, why not have the professor enlarge my room and Harry and I can share. I have a lot to make up for anyways." Dudley said.

Petunia just nodded. Minerva gave the letters to the boys and said she would come by to take them to Diagon Alley when she brought the other Muggle-Born witch the next day. Both boys nodded their agreement.

"Minerva, can I go with you all please? I think it is time I rejoined the wizarding world," Petunia said taking out a wand.

Minerva smiled. "Of Course Petunia." She answered.

Petunia smiled in return and then politely showed the professor out the door.

Turning to Harry and Dudley she spoke. "I am sorry about keeping this in the dark, I assume it was Dumbledore who did this trying to keep our family weak. I expect both of you to study hard and you are both Parselmouths, meaning you can talk to snakes and each other. Lily and I were parsels as well so it is only natural that you carry it. I am descendant of Gryffindor,which makes your mother a descendant as well and the two of you Heirs to Gryffindor. Parselmouth runs in the Gryffindor line as Salazar Slytherin gave the ability to Gryffindor right before the founded Hogwarts. They were best friends when they were younger. Salazar thought it only right to share that ability with Godric. Now go and play."

The boys nodded and ran outside. Vernon just stood there smiling and was glad he had his wife back and was no longer under that stupid charm.
