Disclaimer: I don't own The Vampire Diaries.

She knows it's crazy. She knows that they were never real to begin with. She knows that there was no possibility of them ever being real since Stephan had been a vampire for over 100 years when they had first met. She knows that they were just a product of a spell but it doesn't matter because she misses them.

Her children in the dream-hallucination, shared alternate reality- whatever the spell had put them in. Maybe she would able to get past it easier if she wasn't a vampire and didn't know that she would never have children. Children it had always been something she wanted- sometime in the future. Preferably the far future but she had wanted them... eventually. That was one of the reason she hadn't wanted to be a vampire. She was a vampire now and she would never have the children that she had loved so much in the vision. It had been better before when children were an abstract idea. Better when she couldn't see their faces when she closed her eyes. Better when she didn't know she would never again see them with her eyes open.
