John couldn't take it anymore. It's been 3 years now since Sherlock left him and now he's decided. He doesn't want to live without Sherlock for another second that's why he'd driven out here to the middle of nowhere. The only attraction this place gave was the high cliffs but then again that was all he needed. He had promised himself he wouldn't go through another day without Sherlock as soon as the sunset began he'd jump. Now he just had to wait.

Just as the sun began to dip down John stood and looked down at the waves crashing far below him. He smiled but he couldn't quite find the humour in the situation. A noise startled him making him turn just as Greg Lestrade exited the car

"John don't do this. Please Mycroft has something to tell you it's important!" John ignores him turning back to the cliff Mycroft has had 3 years to tell him Mycroft could wait until they met again in hell. John stretched his arms out and leaned forward copying the image that was imprinted on his eyes from when Sherlock stood so high and fell so far. From behind John Lestrade yelled at him to stop and started running. John saw a dark flash at the edge of his vision and felt strong hands gripping around him pulling him back to safety. John twisted round to see the face twisted in sadness and the pain of the last 3 years. John leaned into the man's body and whispered

"Together this time" with that he jumped pulling his saviour with him down and down. The waves closed over their heads but still the saviour gripped onto John until they both grew still leaving Lestrade alone on the cliff top.

It took time but with Mycroft's insistence the police finally found the bodies of John Watson retired Army Doctor gripped safely in the final embrace of Sherlock Holmes Consulting detective.
