Midnight Moon
I sat at the window, looking up at the moon, thinking of Jacob.
"Renesme!" The voice rang through our small cottage. Mom.
"What?" My voice was annoyed. She had broken my train of thought.
"We're going hunting! We'll be back in a day or two!"
The next thing I heard was the door opening and closing. I looked around my room. The blue walls, the small bed in the corner. I had known for all my 2 years. I was 16 now. Yes, 16 in 2 years. That was me. I grew faster than normal humans. I was part vampire, and they never really understood why I grew faster instead of slower. I guess I was special.
I decided to go and see Uncle Jasper and Aunt Alice. Mom and Dad wouldn't mind, they never do. I got off of my padded window sill and opened my room door. Before me stood the small cobblestone cottage that Grandma and Grandpa had built for us. The small living room, leading into the kitchen. On the other side of the cottage was Mom and Dad's room. I grabbed my coat and walked out the door, locking it behind me and slipping the key into my pocket.
The thing, things, I should say, about our cottage were:
A. It was in the middle of the forest and
B. it was close to the others' house.
As I ran through the forest, I wondered where Jacob was and what he was doing. Jacob was a werewolf. He had loved my mom at first, but after she had me and became a vampire, he didn't. As much. You see, werewolves and vampires were enemies. So when Jacob imprinted on me, mom wasn't too happy. Attacked him, to be specific. But Seth, another werewolf down at La Push, got in between them and came out with an injured arm.
I was at the back door now, opening the glass carefully.
"Alice? Jasper? You here?"
"In the almost unused kitchen!" was the reply, a girl's voice. Alice.
