The Vampire's Tear

The sun shines down

On the garden.

But I am inside

Away from it's light

But the warmth

Still reaches me.

My love is away

But here I stayed.

And here I patiently wait

For Marcus.

My brother calls me

I happily answer.

Aro says he'd like to talk

So I listen.

He smiled once,

But now that smile is gone,

And is hidden in the shadows

Of the room we are in.

Fear chases my joy away,

For his eyes are now filled with hate.

Aro tells me that

I've ruined his plans,

And that is not okay.

His words are spit like venom,

And it's now I realize

Why he sent Marcus away.

I cannot fight back

As he attacks,

I'm paralyzed by sorrow.

I wish I could weep,

For I can feel

The tears that will never come,

But something odd happens.

Though all my tears

Were used long ago,

This new betrayal

Produces one more.

When the vampire's tear

Falls to the ground,

It seems to repel me.

Although my body

Is now ash,

I find the strength

To fly away

Out of the castle

And towards the sunshine.
