Sailor Pluto
by Belladonna Jaide
~~~
All alone and in the dark
She grasps her silver key;
The Solitary Guardian
Is a very lonely Queen.
~
Forbidden it is to see her
Or to know that she exists,
Yet she still has many titles
She is called by, such as this:
~
Some call her Moira*
(who's the ancient goddess Fate),
But her friends call her Setsuna
As the Queen of Time and Space.
~
Her enemies call her Pluto,
Chibi-Usa calls her Puu;
Evil fears her deadly Scream
And temporal powers too.
~
She is the Senshi of the Underworld
Who grieves but cannot cry,
The Guardian of the Gates of Space
Who hurts but cannot die.
~
Forever doomed to be alone
And watch as Time goes by;
Staying safe and ever-young,
But seeing old friends die.
~~~
* "Moira" is pronounced "Moh-ee-ruh". Moira was the Goddess of Fate in Ancient Greece, before she became known as the Three Fates: Clotho (who spins the thread of life), Lacheis (who measures it), and Atropos (who cuts it). I thought the name of this goddess was appropriate for Sailor Pluto, since she rules Time and therefore, in a certain sense, can control fate or destiny. (Plus it seemed to make the poem sound better and rhymed with 'Setsuna')
Please review this, I'd really like to know what you think of it.
