Author's note: So I was reading Eclipse the other day, and I read the quote bellow (Edward was saying to Bella) and I was thinking… Maybe Leah imprinted on Sam? And imagine if that were what the story was about, man, what an annoying story that would be. But such an intriguing read… SO I thought maybe to write a bit of it. But then I figured I don't really know how to write imprinting. So I just wrote a story about Leah being a cow.
Disclaimer: Pfft, as if!
"It's hard enough for them, having to share all their thoughts. Most of the try to cooperate, make it easier. When even one member is deliberately malicious, it's painful for everyone else…"
-o-o-o-o-
Their thoughts passed silently through each other, each member of the pack thinking their own thoughts, whilst thinking the thoughts of the others around them. Thoughts fly between them, voices recognizable, even though they have no sound.
One train of thought was distinctive among all others.
Leah lay on the hard ground, brooding, whilst Sam tried in vain to block his thoughts. Try as he might, he couldn't deny the fact that Emily was in his every thoughts. And try as he might, he couldn't ignore the fact that Emily was in the thoughts of his brothers and sister.
Last night he had promised Emily that once he'd finished merging, they would move away, and start somewhere new.
You told me that once, remember?
Sam flinched as Leah's thoughts cut into his own. He and Leah had once been in love, but the creature he had become had changed all of that. All the promises he had made her, all the assurances he had given her, they had all turned to lies. Every day he was forced to look into her eyes, and every day he was forced to be reminded of the cruel young man Leah saw.
And Sam agreed with Leah. Looking at Emily's face every morning, that fateful day replayed itself in his mind. The shaking anger he'd felt, the burning sensation under his skin, rocking his body as he changed into a monster. As Emily lay on the ground bleeding, the others ran for help, and Sam flew into the woods to be alone with the shame that he felt.
Great way to handle your emotions, Sam.
Any opportunity Leah saw, she took.
Cut it out, Leah.
Yeah Leah, nobody wants to hear what you think, anymore.
That's a bit rich, coming from you, Embry. Your thoughts chatter twenty-four/seven.
The bloodsucker that stood with Bella chuckled silently. Sam glanced at him, suddenly embarrassed for the actions of his pack.
Stop it, all of you! Leah, whatever problems you want to cause next, we'll deal with them later. Right now, just concentrate on what they're saying.
The pack turned their attention back to the two leeches that stood in front of them. Apparently the newborns would be expecting them to go for the obvious kill, so attacking from the side was their best option.
Unfortunately for the pack, their minds were all merged together, and if someone wanted to attack their thoughts, there was no coming from the side. Leah was being intentionally malevolent, and there was no choice for the pack but to endure it until their times were up.
