Disclaimer: I don't own Rurouni Kenshin. So, don't sue me.

[I bet you didn't notice

But I didn't care]

Kaoru watched Kenshin as he played with the two girls. She sighed. He was so oblivous towards

her feelings towards him. She didn't care though, as long as he stayed. As long as he doesn't leave.

[I tried being honest

But that left me no where]

Kaoru remembered the numerous times she had tried to confess to him how she felt. So many things intruded, making it

impossible. She wondered if it will ever happen, the day when Kenshin hands over his heart to her.

[I watched the station

Saw the bus pulling through]

Then she remembers the day when he left for Kyoto. It pained her heart every time that memory came across her mind.

[And I don't mind saying

A part of me left with you]

She smiled. She hoped that Kenshin knew that wherever he went, her heart was still in his hands, forever and for always.

[So one of these days

I won't be afraid of staying with you]

'I will tell you, one day,' Kaoru thought, as she looked up at the sky, 'Even if you don't feel the same way.'

[I hope and I pray

Waiting to find a way back to you

Cause that's where I'm home

Oh...]

Kenshin looked at Kaoru. He had felt her eyes on him for quite a while now, and pretended not to notice. He smiled. Even

though he knew that he was too unworthy for her, it flattered him to see her staring. He promised again, like he did countless times

that he would never leave her. Because Kaoru was his home.

[Did I make you nervous?

Did I ask for too much?

Was I not deserving

Once I came of your touch]

When Kaoru looked back at Kenshin, she found him gazing, quite fondly, at her. She blushed crimson. Kenshin smiled inwardly at

the simple action, but wondered if he had made her uncomfortable. 'No, Kaoru, I'm too unworthy to even make you feel anything from me.'

[One of these days

I won't be afraid of staying with you

I hope and I pray

Waiting to find a way back to you

Cause that's where I'm home ]

Kenshin got up and walked towards his precious angel. "Kaoru-dono?" "Hai?" "Would you like to take a walk with me?" "I'd love to, Kenshin." With that, hand in hand,

they walked towards the river.

[What would you do if I could have you

if I could? ]

"K-Kaoru-dono? Sessha would like to tell you something," Kenshin stammered, nervous of what he was going to say. Kaoru looked at him encouragingly. Kenshin sighed, "I've been

having feelings lately...about ... you. I've tried to keep it in because I know that this might endanger you from my enemies from the past--"

"I don't care about that, Kenshin." Kaoru interrupted. Kenshin cleared his throat and continued, "But I can't keep it in any longer."

[I'd let you feel everything you can get

Wouldn't that be nice?]

Without warning, Kenshin pressed his lips on Kaoru's own. He was carefull and tender. He was afraid that Kaoru would pull away and slap him for his straighforwardness. But he was

relieved when Kaoru kissed him back with more aggression. He embraced her tightly, loving the feel of her lean body over his.

[And one of these days

I won't be afraid of staying with you...]
