The young girl glanced up at the boundless sky above her, causing the rings bound in her long hair to clink together with a soft metallic sound.
Tonight she was not the second division taichou nor the Commander of the Secret Mobile Corps. She was simple, Soi Fong.
"Do you remember the promise we made?"
A wry smile crossed her lips as a short laugh of disbelief escaped. Soi Fong doubted that she would remember something such as a sentence, uttered on that spur of a moment.
I meant it though, she thought.
A familiar hand caressed her head, catching her in mid gasp.
"I remember," the dark-skinned beauty whispered in her distinct drawl. "I remember, my little bee."
