AN: Written for "I'd never write a story like that" challenge. =D
So *grimaces* here goes nothing, enjoy!
Sirius watched as Remus walked down the aisle with his cousin Nymphadora. Sirius knew she hated being called that but screw it all he didn't care! He was heartbroken.
Remus and Sirius' eyes locked for a brief moment and all hell broke loose inside of Sirius. The only logical explanation in Sirius' mind was that he must have had something glass inside of him, because at that moment he felt like something had shattered and thousands of shards were stabbing at his heart.
His legs turned to liquid and the only explanation for that obviously was that the blood from his punctured heart had oozed out and down to his legs. Sirius knew he wasn't thinking straight but he simply couldn't bring himself to care as he brought the half empty bottle of fire whisky to his lips and winced as the burning sensation lingered in his throat.
As Remus kissed her Sirius bit back a sob, gritted his teeth and turned his head. How could Remus do this to him! They had progressed from best friends to lovers, and somewhere along the line had formed a loving relationship. And now, Remus was just throwing everything away to live somewhat of a 'normal' life.
Sirius thought it must have been because of Remus' mum. After she died things between them had been strained, and Remus had always said he would do whatever he could that would have made her happy while she was living. Well, he gave his mother her greatest dream, her son marrying, a woman.
When the kiss ended Remus locked eyes with Sirius one last time and in his eyes Sirius said finality. It was done; they would never be able to be together again. They had once both said to each other that they would always love each other, would always find away to be together no matter what. Sirius used to always smile at the memory.
But now, as he downed the last of the fire whisky, he thought one last bitter thought before succumbing to the blissful peace of drunkenness. . .
Remus lied.
AN: I had promised myself I would never write a Remus and Tonks story, or an unrequited love angsty story without a happy ending, but, oh well. It worked for the challenge and I suppose I'm happy with it. I hope you liked it, and always, review! Good or bad is accepted.
Reviews are Love! =D
