Korra opened her eyes. It was the middle of the night, and she could have sworn she heard someone outside her window. After a quick survey her room and outside, she laid back down.
The window slowly opened and a dark figure crept into the room. Korra's eyes shot open. Someone dressed as an Equalist was standing above her bed, the eyes mask glowing with a sickly green. She sent a quick stream of fire, but it was to no avail. The Equalist had delivered several blows to her arms, chi blocking her. When Korra tried to kick, her legs had been restrained by the hits as well. She fell back onto her bed, slumped against the wall.
Korra tried to scream, but the attacker had covered her mouth.
"Shh, shh. They'll hear you." The masked person whispered, in a familiar voice. Where had Korra heard that voice before?
The Equalist removed their hands from Korra's face gently, hoping she had calmed down.
"Who are you? Do I know you? I recognize your voice! And who will hear? Your Equalist buddies? Tenzin? Because he'll come and see what you did to me!" Korra was almost yelling.
"Be quiet- please, just be quiet. I'm not here to hurt you."
The mysterious figure reached toward their face. They slowly removed their mask.
"Asa-" Korra tried to yell, but Asami put her hand to her mouth again.
"Look. I have a lot to explain. Just give me a chance, please. And... Please stop screaming, like I
said, they'll hear you." Asami whispered as she let go of Korra.
"Alright. But try anything funny and I will yell so loud, Ba Sing Se will hear it."
Asami sat down on the bed beside Korra. With a worried look and a heavy sigh, she began to explain herself.
"I... I'm an Equalist. In fact, so is my father. We both have elite positions." She felt Korra's glare on her as she stared at the floor. "We... We don't want to be. When we first joined, it seemed like a great thing! I mean, there is such an advantage to being a bender. But, Amon... He talks about equality, but he wants superiority. He is extremely violent and malicious. I hate it. My father does too."
"Then why are you still Equalists?" Korra asked. It didn't make any sense to her, for people to be in a group they don't agree with.
"We were going to quit, but its complicated. The last time a big business man, similar to my father, tried to leave, their company was sabotaged, their family and friends attacked. We didn't want that to happen to us. Instead, we decided to stay and get as much information as we could. So we could shut them down."
"Why don't you go to the police? BeiFong could help you, she's amazing!"
"You saw what they did to the Pro-Bending arena. I'm sorry, but the police aren't the best suit for this problem right now."
"I guess that's true... But, why are you telling me this now? What time is it? Two in the morning?" Korra had gained some strength in her arms, and was rubbing her eyes.
"I was sent on a mission. I am supposed to lead a group of Equalists to kidnap you. I came in here first to 'see if the coast was clear." Asami made air-quotations, and gave Korra a reassuring smile. "I've got a plan that could work to my- and your- advantage."
"What? Kidnap me? Does Amon want to de-bend me? Wouldn't I still count as a martyr, or something? He said he didn't want that."
"He said he just wants to have a word with you... But he isn't at headquarters right now. He won't be for a couple days. My plan is to show you around, and get you to see some plans. He has some big attacks coming up."
"I don't trust you. I don't want to go." Korra made a defiant, pouting face.
"We can be great friends and allies, Korra." she paused, then gave a serious and concerned look. "As your friend, I want to help you. But, as an Equalist, I'm afraid I have to take you with me."

A quick story to show what I think Asami's stance on the Equalist movement is.
