The young girl looked around at her surroundings. The small wooded area near an abandoned housing estate. "Not much to look at." She muttered. "I think I'd prefer a change of scenery." She started to whisper under her breath, and suddenly disappeared, as if from thin air.

Moments later, a thousand or so miles away, the same young girl appeared on the top of Stark Tower. She grinned, obviously pleased with herself. She sat down and lay back on the stone, look up at the blue sky. "So peaceful." She whispered.

She turned her head to look at the windows, where she saw a rather bewildered Tony Stark staring back at her. The giddy grin on her face gave her an almost childlike quality. In all fairness, she was still a child, in one way.

She lazily raised a hand and waved at him, almost as if he had been expecting her. But he hadn't. No one could have expected some random person they've never seen before to just fall out of the sky and land on their balcony.

She stood up again and walks straight into Stark Tower. "Hello!" she exclaimed, still grinning.

"Who the hell are you!" Tony yelled. She didn't seem phased. Not in the slightest.

"That's quite highly classified information Mr Stark. It's on a need to know basis. And you're quite high on the don't need list." She replied calmly. Something seemed very strange about this girl...

"But I do need to know. And I also need to know how you did that... thing!" he replied, still yelling. She laughed, as if it was a joke. "It's not funny!" he added angrily.

"All you need to know at the moment Mr Stark, is I am The Enigma. Both allies and enemies of yours will be running into me from this moment onwards. I am very certain of that. Don't worry though, no one's in danger. Yet." She added this last part quietly, but loud enough for him to hear.

"What do you mean by that?" he asked, a hint of nervousness in his voice.

"When I pick a side, all the fights will start. Right now, I'm deciding. But when the days comes that I finally choose a side, it will all start." She said ominously, before quickly muttering under her breath again and disappearing, leaving Tony Stark, for possibly the first time in his life, completely baffled.

Whoever this girl was, she seemed to know more than she should. And if she chose the side of the enemies, that would be a very bad thing.

"The Enigma.. hmm. Odd name... but it's a name I suppose." He shrugged after a while of standing in silence.

A/N: This is a one shot which could possibly turn into a chapter fanfic, it depends on the reviews.
