AN: I came up with this at dark o'clock, when I should have been sleeping, like usual. I wrote this in math class freehand, and it seemed a lot longer then. In recently published fics (as of 10/19/10) I've noticed that when Mary and Marshall finally get together, they aren't thrown into a bed. So here is my response to that. And yes I realize that this is my third fic in a row where Mary and Marshall are in a bed. Get over it.

*If anyone knows how to do line breaks, please let me know!*

I own a deck of Vegas Jumbo Poker playing cards. I own a very nice Cirque Du Soleil water bottle. I own a 4 year old bottle of Ruby's Costume Co. black nail polish. Do you see In Plain Sight on that list? I did not think so.

On with the Show!

The jarring sound of an alarm woke the tangled pair up. They both seemed surprised to be where they were. Marshall leaned over and shut it off. For a long moment the pair stared at each other. This morning was a result of high tensions, an adrenaline filled day and surprisingly little alcohol. The staring continued. Finally Marshall spoke.

"Do you regret it?" There was an edge to Marshall's voice. If she said yes, he didn't know what he would be able to do. He couldn't leave, god no, but he couldn't keep fooling himself either. Mary knew this. She knew that where all others would give up, Marshall would wait as long as it took. She also knew that when it came to her and Marshall's relationship, she was selfish. She took him for granted, and rightfully so, as Marshall had made it his mission for Mary to be comfortable and feel safe enough to do so.

"No." Marshall's face softened in a relieved way. No more worries. As long as she didn't regret what had happened between them, then he had hope to continue on. Mary opened her mouth to speak. "Marshall, I …"

Marshall understood. "It's okay Mare. You don't have to."

"But you deserve it!" Mary had words at her power now. "You give me so much slack, when others would have gotten fed up with me a long time ago. You shouldn't always have to wait for emotionally stunted Mary to catch up."

"I can and will wait. I've always been annoyingly patient. And every time I might feel like giving up, you surprise me with something that gives me enough to go on."

"But you shouldn't have to." Mary was adamant. "You can't always be living on so little." Marshall tried to say something, but Mary cut him off. "Shut up I'm talking. And trust me you want to hear this."

"Do you remember that witness we had Yvonne? While you were off fetching her friend Charlie, we talked. She said that we have a very comfortable relationship. Something that lets us completely rely on each other. That we always knew what the other is gonna do. She said that that it was with her and Charlie. Then she said something that really surprised me. She said that they love each other. Not that they were in love, which is also true, but that they loved each other. And I've realized that that's how I feel about you. I simply love you. I can't say that I'm in love with you, because that takes time, but I definitely love you."

Marshall stared. He didn't know what to say. Where words have always held him up, here they failed him. So he just pulled her into the circle of his arms.

"I don't even have to say it, do I?"

Mary chuckled. "Nope. Cause I already know what you're gonna do."

The end.

*So what do you think? Love it, hate it? Think it's really disjointed? I get that last one.
