So, I'm one of those people who likes to keep notebooks full of ideas: stories, songs, poetry, rants, etc. I was looking through one of them today and I found a poem from...eighth grade(?) that reminded me of Stein (don't ask me why, especially since I hadn't even started my anime obsession at that point), so I changed it up a bit and voila! I like it. I know it's especially free verse, but I thought I'd share, especially since I found a little muse kitten that said I should. Please review. I'd love to get feedback on any of my stories, but I'm especially lacking in confidence with my poetry. Anywhoo... Enjoy!
Oh. Side note: I find that, when reading poetry, reading aloud is an excellent strategy.
A little insanity is good for the soul,
A thing which many would not care to agree.
I say this because I know that it's true—
I'm insane, I know, at least more than you.
You may sue me if I'm blind,
Or more than my sight is missing.
Leave me, Marie, if
My worth is less than gold.
My soul has value—
A small amount, nothing in excess—
Even if it seems to lack
The makings of success.
I could always be mistaken;
There could be nothing missing.
This empty shell inside of me
Could be nothing—a given.
But if I've spoken in error—
If you think I'm wrong, my darling.
Hurt me, please, to prove to me,
There's a part of me worth anything.
So FF messed up my formatting, but oh well. Like it? Hate it? Tell meee! Pwease. :3
