It was breakfast, and Carmen was sitting at the dining table, fiddling with the spoon to the bowl of muesli that sat in front of her. She concentrated on moving the spoon around the bowl when Johnny came and sat down next to her. As she looked up, she saw him sitting there, and it made her jump slightly.
No one noticed apart from Harry who was sitting across the table.
"Why did you jump, Carmen?" he asked, looking confused at Carmen who blushed slightly.
"No reason." She replied, looking out of the corner of her eye at Johnny, hoping he didn't notice her blushing. But, the one person who did was Tyler.
Tyler laughed and whispered to Jody, causing Carmen to raise an eyebrow and look at them with concern.
"What?" She asked, glaring slightly at them both.
"Do you have a crush on Johnny or something?" Tyler asked loudly, and Jody laughed. It made Floss, Bailey and Faith all look at Carmen with shocked faces. The anger inside of her bubbled until it rose so much that she left the table angrily and stormed out into the garden. She didn't want anyone to know that she liked him.
After a few minutes of sitting alone on the seats in the garden, Johnny came outside and poked his head through the bushes.
"Carmen?" He asked, "Are you okay?" The rest of his body came through the bushes as he slowly walked over to her and sat down on the bench next to her.
"I'm fine…" She trailed off, trying to avoid eye contact with her crush.
"Do you have a crush on me, like they said?" He asked again. Carmen stayed quiet. "That's convenient, because I feel the same way…" Johnny smiled slightly then looked down, his cheeks glowing red. The second he said it, Carmen's head shot up to look at him.
"Really?!" She asked, looking shocked but happy. Johnny nodded and looked back at her, into her eyes. A few seconds later, they found themselves kissing. Her lipgloss transferred to his pale lips and they were lost in the moment.
