When Gordon gets ill, James and Percy work together as good friends should to help him out with timework, and teamwork.

Everyday on the Island of Sodor, Gordon the steam engine delivers the Express passengers right on time. He is considered a useful steam engine.

Until one day, Gordon became ill. His driver and fireman tried lighting his fire, but it wouldn't light!

"Ooh, I am so sick!" groaned Gordon. "And a wrong time to be so, because I have to pull the Express today!"

Gordon had just enough puff to make it to the next station

Sir Topham Hatt looked at him..

"Gordon can't pull the Express today, send another engine at once!

Then, James and Percy arrived.

"We can help," said James to Sir Topham Hatt, "Me and Percy always do a fine job together. Let us help sir."

Sir Topham Hatt smilled.

"Very well. Only if you and Percy promise to get to Maron on time." replied Sir Topham Hatt.

"We will.", James and Percy said at the same time.

Then they set off together, with James in front, and Percy in back.

Things went well, as they set off.

But Percy was started to complain a bit.

"James, I'm not sure if we'll get there on time.",

James could tell Percy was starting to worry.

"Hey, Percy, it's okay," said James gently. "We can both make it. We're a team. We can get it done on time."

Percy was reassured by what James said and was okay again.

"You're right, James. Everybody is counting on us. Let's get this together.", Percy said.

They went as fast and steady as they could to pull the Express train all the way to Maron.

Once they got there, they were right on time!

Everyone clapped and cheered, and clapped some more!

They were so proud of themselves that they got there on time.

At the end of the day, Sir Topham Hatt went to see them.

"Good job, James and Percy. You two pulled the Express with no problems! You are both really useful engines!

"Thank you, sir.", they replied.

"Thank you Percy and James for finishing my job today. I knew I could count on you two.", Gordon said.

"You're welcome, Gordon. It was our pleasure to help out.", James said.

"And it was all because of our timework and teamwork.", said Percy.

James and Percy learned a lesson on how teamwork can help out a friend.
