A Hidden Bird
Robin hid carefully in the darkening gloom, using his cape to hide himself from sight. He couldn't be seen.
The teen listened carefully as his other teammates were found and tugged out of their hiding spots, one by one. Robin blinked as he began counting down in his head. He knew he would be found soon. It was inevitable.
19...
Footsteps sounded outside the room he was hiding in; soft steps, fast steps, heavy steps, and more. Even no steps.
"I think I saw him go in here." Someone said.
"Brat." Another muttered.
The door knob jiggled as someone attempted to open the door.
18... 17... 16... 15...
Not gonna happen. Robin grinned silently, though he knew one of the searchers could pick locks. Even automatic, passcode locks.
14... 13... 12... 11... 10... 9... 8... 7... 6... 5... 4... 3...
It only took her eleven seconds to bypass the code Robin had set. He'd get an earful later for resetting it.
2... 1... 0...
"Boo!" Robin yelled, jumping up from where he lay on Artemis' bed. Kid Flash and Miss Martian shrieked, Superboy and Aqualad just stood there, and Artemis marched in angrily.
"I cannot believe you had the audacity to actually hide in my room! I agreed to play Hide and Seek on your and Kid Idiot's request, and you hid in my room!"
She continued ranting as the six teammates made their way to the kitchen (Kid Flash was hungry).
"Sorry, Artie." Robin apologized when the girl stopped to draw in a breath. "You were It, so I chose the least likely place you'd look- your own bedroom."
Artemis pulled the younger teen to her side and ruffled his hair, calmed down and grinning. "No problem, Rob. I would probably do the same thing."
At that moment, Kid Flash said, "Who's up for another round? Robin as It!"
"Sounds good!" The others chorused, Superboy grunting.
The first place Robin looked after counting was his own bedroom.
Okay, so I have no idea what it is with me writing hide and seek fics and having the main character of the fic (or at least one of them) hide in the searcher's bedroom. Percy hid under Annabeth's bed and Robin hid on top of Artemis'.
But anyway, who guessed they were playing hide and seek before Artemis actually said they were? If so, nice job! I think I made it kind of obvious, but maybe not.
