Summary: Edward is remembering the last time he saw Kim. She is dying of old age, but he's still the same.
Rating: PG, for mention of death non-graphic.
Author's Note: It doesn't all rhyme and it's not supposed to. Edward Scissorhands is one of my favorite movies. Edward is the most innocent character ever made. He had the most pure love for Kim. Johnny Depp hooked me after that. How can anyone play someone so innocent?
Edward's POV
They say it is better to have loved and lost.
Then to have never loved at all.
But how can that be true.
If in the end.
I loose any feeling at all.
I was banished.
I was cast aside.
I am empty now.
Like an animals hanging hide.
She was the only one.
Who saw me as I really am.
She did not see the scissors.
To her I bore human hands.
While others saw me as a monster.
She saw me as a man.
When she was in danger.
I risked every thing for her.
I lost my innocence that night.
I killed her ex to save both our lives.
I knew when she held me close.
And gave me our last and only kiss.
That it wasn't only my innocence I'd miss.
She left me that night.
She saved my life.
But my life ended when she left.
She told me something from the heart and true.
I love you.
I never had to answer she knew I did too.
Over the years I have looked down on the town.
I saw her grow up never able to touch her life again.
For who would ever want to touch?
A man with metal for hands?
Now it's too late.
I can feel her life fading.
Old age has been her bane.
Since that night our lives have never been the same.
I am still ageless.
I am still young.
Some would give almost anything for that.
I would give it all away.
To hold her one more time.
To finally say goodbye.
No matter her age.
I never wanted to leave.
Life is not having skin or bone.
What good is immortality?
When you're alone?
