Siren
When your eyes can adjust and you see what's in view
Discoloured and distempered smiles that seen you
Do you realize we were all once like you?
Once, there was a girl.
And she was more beautiful than everyone else in the world. Her eyes drew you in, stealing your soul and trapping you forever.
They called her Siren.
When she danced, her actions only enticed you more into her madness.
My stare seemed to burn holes in her head with power.
I should be running scared, yet I was drawn in.
It was November when the Siren pulled me into her world.
What was it? Was it her chocolate-and-caramel hair? Her unblemished skin? Her melting brown eyes? Or the way she got everyone to notice her by just living?
Yes, I was desperately and sinfully in love with the Siren.
I'm marching through the branches in a fit of wanderlust
It was a love fuelled by obsession, passion and lust. It had no place in my heart, it lived in poems of anger written by moonlight and dripping with tears.
I wasn't sure whether to hate her or to love her. The way she made me cry and scream, tormented by my feelings, was enough to drive me mad with despair, disgust and desire. But the way she made me laugh and smile and sigh and bite my lip, that was what kept me going.
It was a dizzy dream of darkness pushing me under, it was a girl who loved and hated and killed.
The evidence was all there.
The glint in her eye, the bloodlust. The way her lovers mysteriously disappeared.
Been told to be afraid of everything that lives within
But it's much worse where you are
So will you go for it?
I knew my doomed fate, yet it kept me drunk anyway, my vision clouded by her.
It was a tango of love and deception, and kisses and tragedy, of her killing smile and wicked ways.
Now we tumble down a hill to a fire with a crowd
The flicker becomes thicker as we bottom out
The residents don't even notice the sudden shouts
"Say goodbye." she whispered.
"I love you." I said instead.
She smirked and drove the knife into my heart.
Running lies my noise and you heard about the Pit
Been told to be afraid of everything that comes within
Wrote this in English class, but made it Cori for you :)
