Detention

Harry showed up to Umbridge's office. As he entered, he notices all the cat stuff. He sat down on one of the two chairs across from her.

"So-um-professor? What do you want me to do?"

"I will inform you in a moment Mr. Potter. We await one more student."

Harry was confused. Who else had detention? The door began to open. Harry was going to get his answer.

The door opened fully to show a foreign girl. She had hip-length black hair and large blue eyes that appeared so gentle. That was until her gaze met Umbridge then her eyes harden threateningly. Harry had never seen her before. Looking at her emblem and house colours, he knew the reason. Hufflepuff-that was the house she was in. Harry, being a Gryffindor, never had much interaction with the Hufflepuffs with the exception of Cedric Diggory-currently dead-and the few who are part of the DA.

"Sit down Miss Higurashi." Harry was right-she was foreign.

Kagome sat down but stared suspiciously at the quills in front of them. They were told to write a line. Just one line each. Harry was to write "I must not tell lies" while Kagome had to write "I will remain obedient". Right after, the two were dismissed.

When the two left the room, Harry couldn't help but say, "I've never seen you before. Why did you get detention?"

"Oh? Sorry, my name's Kagome Higurashi. I refuse to go to class, and the few days I do go, I don't pay attention. She's bogus. How is anyone suppose to defend themselves by just reading. It takes time and a lot of practice."

Harry's interest peeked. "So you believe me when I said that Voldemort's back?"

Blue eyes stared into green. "I don't know. Maybe. Maybe not. I don't really think it matters though. There are other people and things that pose threats than just Voldemort." Harry was surprised when she spoke You-know-who's name. "I believe it's important to be able to protect yourself-carry your own weight-because there is a dreadful feeling if you always have to rely on someone else. Oh look at the time! I must be off." Before Harry could ask anything else, she was already out of sight.

Harry glanced down where he heard a cling. On the stone floor was a pink jewel. He would have to return it to her.

I'm still practicing writing one-shots and drabbles so I have been trying to write more. I am posting two today(this one included) to celebrate the beginning of December Fest that will start tomorrow (me updating everyday).

These Ideas randomly came to me so if someone wants to write a better version or write a longer story using these ideas all ya gotta do is ask.
