DM The Three Brave Knights
Edith had been reading a book about knights in shining armour. They looked so awesome in their thick metal casing made especially to protect them. Edith thought she would make a brilliant knight! She thought knights were just as good as both ninjas and trains put together.
Edith fetched the sword from her ninja outfit and went to look for something for a suit of shining armour. She found some shiny silvery sheets in the big cupboard in Gru's lab. Gru wasn't at home right now. He was off on a mission anyway so Edith wouldn't have to worry about him touching anything he thought she shouldn't.
Soon Edith had her sparkly silver knight costume. She glanced at her reflection in the first mirror she could find. ''I am a brave knight in shining armour!'' she declared. Kevin the minion thought the idea of being a knight in shining armour looked like a lot of fun indeed, so he made himself a shiny knight costume too, so he could join in with Edith's little game.
They passed Lucy who hadn't realized Gru was away on a mission and was looking for her dear old husband. However Lucy did notice their costumes and she thought they looked very good, so she took a photograph of them. Edith and Kevin went outside looking for someone in need of help. It seemed they couldn't find anyone at all.
But just then, as they walked through the local park. Edith and Kevin saw a cat stuck up a tree and there was an anxious crowd watching and wondering what to do. Kevin leaned against the tall tree and Edith climbed right on top of him trying as hard as they could to reach the cat on the Long Branch.
Just as Edith caught hold of the cat, she and Kevin both lost their balance and all three of them fell against the hard scratchy tree and onto the ground in a little heap. ''Oh look, that little girl and that strange little yellow creature saved my dear little cat!'' called a voice from the crowd. A elderly woman walked out towards Edith and Kevin and picked up the cat. ''Thank you for saving my cat from the tree, both of you'' the woman said gratefully ''You're very brave indeed!''.
But Edith and Kevin just whimpered and sniffed and their eyes watered. Edith had torn open her leggings on the rough bark of the tree and grazed her knee and Kevin had grazed his arm too. Edith suggested they went home where they could ask Lucy to help them both.
Lucy rubbed some ointment on Edith's knee and Kevin's arm. How they both cringed and winced at the stinging and bit their tongues too! ''There all done, both of you'' Lucy said ''that was very brave of you not to make a sound when I put the ointment on your sore bits. The pair of you are very brave knights indeed''.
Just then, they heard moaning as the front door opened. It was Gru. He had fallen and banged his head while he had been away on his mission and it was very sore. ''Your turn Gru'' Lucy said to her husband opening the first aid box again yet again. She bandaged Gru's head and made him hold an ice bag on it for a while.
''Looks like I've got three little brave knights'' Lucy said, glancing at Gru, Edith and Kevin. ''Yeah, I suppose so'' Edith said, grinning at Kevin and her father and at her mom.
