A/N: Totally Axel x Namine. Just a random moment.

Fear Of

Her hands rested against the window. There's no air or midnight sky filled with stars. She looked out into the streets but can't see from where she is standing. Namine is frustrated by the lack of light and wants to escape but she knows he will block the path to the door if she tries.

Axel looks out the window with her. He opens the latch and pushes the window away and watch from above. She holds out her hand in the wind and is disappointed.

"Were you expecting someone to save you?"

She doesn't look at him because she's scared.

"No..."

"No one will save a Nobody."

"I was hoping it would be colder."

Axel laughed softly to himself, almost mocking her. "You couldn't feel anything, can you?"

"I guess not...not this time," she now looks at him. "Can you?" His smile is gone. Her innocence is infectious. "What is it like? Castle..."

"Oblivion," he scowls. "Got it memorized? Are you scared? Can't be, right? You're a Nobody. You don't have any feelings..."

"Maybe you're right," she glances at her sketchbook on the table. "It can't be right we don't have feelings." She holds onto his arm tightly. "Why am I scared then?" She holds on for her life.

"Don't kid yourself," he laughs again. "You think you're scared. Now, at least pretend you're fearless. You can do that too, can't you?" Axel tries to take his arm away but she holds on for her soul. He gives up and is content looking into the invisible streets.

Namine holds onto his arm for her nonexistent heart. He waits until her fears fade away and they don't leave until she is ready.
