Lily Evans was not amused.

"Oh, come on, Lils, it was sweet!" her best friend, Rose, moaned. Lily made a very unladylike snorting-hacking noise.

"Sweet. Right. Jennifer just HAD to trash all my clothes and make them pink, right?"

Ross examined Lily's clothes. "Well, you could use some clothing help, you know..."

Lily groaned. "You've gone to the dark side, Rose. Don't leave me!"

Suddenly, Lily just HAPPENED to walk into James Potter (it just so happened that she tended to walk into him a lot. It's not like he was stalking her or anything).

"Hey, Lily," James purred, an attempt to be seductive. While it may have worked on most girls, it did not work on an extremely pissed Lily Potter.

"Goddammit, James, I'm not in the mood."

James pouted attractively. "That's not very nice, Lily. You know what IS nice?" He leaned in toward her like he was going to tell her a secret. "You."

Lily almost punched him. Because, as he said, she was nice.

She hexed him instead. "Will you not get the hint?" She poked him. "I." Poke. "Do." Poke. "Not." Poke. "Want." Poke. "You." Poke.

Then she muttered the countercurse and stormed away. James looked at all the snickering people around him and frowned.

"She still wants me."

Sirius Black appeared out of nowhere, in his typical Black way. "Sure she does, mate."

"She said there was a one in a million chance of you being with her," Remus agreed, popping up randomly. James seemed pleased.

"She said there's a chance!"

Sirius banged his head on the wall. "That's not what she-"

Bu it was too late. James had already sprinted down the hall, yelling "LILY! LILY!"

Remus eyed James. "Any bets?"

"A galleon that he goes to the infirmary."

"You're on."

James Potter came into the Gryffindor common room, where all the other Mauruders were, sporting a black eye and a bruise on his left cheek. He glared at everyone, daring them to contradict him when he said, "She still wants me."
