Prologue

Over five thousand years ago, the great land of Egypt stood at its peak of prosperity. Farmers tended their crops on the fertile banks of the Nile while fishermen sailed the river itself. In grand cities, merchants from all over the world gathered to buy and sell many riches of gold and jewels, as well as fine silks and cloths of deep purple. The mighty pharaoh ruled with an iron fist, and also a merciful heart. Egypt was thriving.

One such merchant city that resided in Egypt was named Kul Elna. Even though the villagers of Kul Elna lived the same as people in other cities, they were different. All of Egypt considered them a sacred race because of their appearance, as well as their pure souls. The entire kingdom envied their unnatural beauty. Tall and agile, they treaded as rhythmically as one could in the searing desert heat. In addition, bronze skin adorned their amethyst eyes. Except, their eyes were not their most striking feature. That right belonged to their thick, snowy white hair.

However, unknown to most, Egypt harbored a growing fear. Mages and magicians wielded dark and powerful magic. They fought with monsters that lurked inside humanity's darkest desires; that haunted their nightmares. Ruthlessly, these mages used the shadows to further their own selfish ambitions. Those wielders, while doing so, played deadly games where one's very soul might hang in the balance. Named accordingly, they earned the title of Shadow Games.

The pharaoh's own court sheltered this new breed of magic. Along with the pharaoh himself, six others played these sinister games, but for the sake of good instead of evil. This group included his brother, his nephew, and four court magicians. Though, one man plotted against the rest.

Akhenaden, the pharaoh's own brother, cultivated hate within his heart. Bitter, he retained thoughts against his brother. Why should his brother be king? In his mind, he was much better suited for the job. He desired power. He wished for his son to be king after him. Most of all, he aspired to see his despised brother groveling at his feet. And to his dark satisfaction, he finally discovered a way to make his wildest dreams come true.

This is where our story begins.
