Hey this is another one-shot. I seriously think I need to do an entire story of music because I make too many one-shots. (JK)
Okay. Normally people don't read the lyrics but read them. They are so cute and this is just what I got out of them when I applied it to Twilight.
If you want to listen to the song it's called Gravity by Sara Bareilles.
I hope you enjoy!
I don't own Twilight
I ran my hand across the ivory keys and let out a long sigh. I sat down and closed my eyes as my hands played the familiar tune of my lullaby. I still love to listen to it and remember the good times of my first love. As I finish the lullaby I feel my eyes fill with tears that'll never fall.
After all these years, I can still feel the pull of him. It's almost like he's looking for me, like he wants me back. Would I even take him back? He was my world, but then he destroyed it as he left. My entire being wants him back, but my mind doesn't seem to agree.
I let out a small humorless laugh and let my fingertips stroke the piano keys. I started to my lullaby again and slowed it down. I let it make it self into it's own new song. I took a deep breath and began to sing what was on my mind.
"Something always brings me back to you.
It never takes too long.
No matter what I say or do I'll still feel you here 'til the moment I'm gone."
I smiled slightly and kept the slow pace of the piano as I continued to sing my mind.
"You hold me without touch.
You keep me without chains.
I never wanted anything so much than to drown in your love and not feel your reign."
I picked up my pace slightly and let the music ring through the room.
"Set me free, leave me be. I don't want to fall another moment into your gravity.
Here I am and I stand so tall, just the way I'm supposed to be.
But you're on to me and all over me."
I slowed down again for the next verse and just let everything flow. No thinking just feeling.
"You loved me 'cause I'm fragile.
When I thought that I was strong.
But you touch me for a little while and all my fragile strength is gone."
I speeded up as I ended and re-sang the verse before my last to give it importance.
"Set me free, leave me be. I don't want to fall another moment into your gravity.
Here I am and I stand so tall, just the way I'm supposed to be.
But you're on to me and all over me."
I picked up the speed a little more and made my music bounce slightly after I held it down for emphasis.
"I live here on my knees as I try to make you see that you're everything I think I need here on
The ground.
But you're neither friend nor foe though I can't seem to let you go.
The one thing that I still know is that you're keeping me down"
I held the last note as I sang the last word and continued to play the song. I slowed the melody back down in the slightest and repeated the last line.
"Keeping me down. Yea-yea-yeah."
I played a little keeping the melody bouncy but started to murmur the last lines as I finished up.
"You're on to me, on to me, and all over."
I sang and then I slowed the melody all the way down so it sounded like my lullaby again. I sang so quiet it came out as a whisper.
"Something always brings me back to you
It never takes too long."
I held the cord down and let it fade like my thoughts did.
"I love you," I whispered.
I'm thankful for my gravity.
