Hey hey hey! This is a little something I threw together for Easter. It's not much, but I hope you enjoy!
The Cirque Du Fantaise train was puffing along the tracks. In the animals' boxcar, Annie the bunny appeared to be hiding something. Leo, June and Quincy took notice. "Annie, what are you up to?" Leo asked.
"Huh? Oh, nothing"
"So 'Nothing' covers your paws in paint?"
"You got me. I'm painting some eggs for Easter."
"What's that?" June asked.
"Oh, right, you're new to America. Easter is a holiday where you paint eggs, hide them, eat candy, and do a bunch of fun stuff."
"That does sound fun." June remarked.
"And since bunnies are associated with Easter," Annie continued. "I'm getting into the spirit."
Just then, there was a large bump, and the train halted to a stop. "What was that?"
"We better check it out." Leo answered. The animals exited the boxcar, only to see that the track was broken on one side, and the train had jumped off.
The ringmaster, who had been driving the train, sighed. "I'm going to call a train mechanic." He pulled out his phone, but couldn't get a signal. "Looks like we're stuck here for a while. But don't worry, we have plenty of food stored in the train, and I'm sure anyone who walks by will be willing to help. We'll be back on the tracks before you know it!"
Six hours later, the train still hadn't moved, and the animals were lying around. "I'm bored." Quincy remarked.
"Nice to meet you bored, I'm Leo!" Quincy and June groaned.
"Leo, that joke is so old."
"I know, I'm just so bored too, and-wait, where's Annie?"
"Annie? Now that you mention it, I haven't seen her anywhere since we crashed." June replied.
"Oh no. Who knows what could have gotten to her. We have to find her!"
With that, Leo, June and Quincy took off.
"Annie? Annie!?" Leo called. Suddenly, he tripped over something. "What was that?" After getting up and looking behind him, he saw…an egg! "Guys, you might want to take a look at this."
Quincy and June ran over, only to see the egg Leo was holding. It was purple in color, with a lighter purple stripe down the middle. It looked like June's tutu.
"What do you think it means?" Leo asked.
"I don't know, but it sure is pretty." June responded. "I think I'll hold on to it."
"Suit yourself."
The animals split up to look for Annie, only to find a lot more eggs. There was a pink egg with a shooting star, a leopard-spotted egg, a black egg with an orange stripe, a yellow egg with vertical green stripes, and too many more to name. No sign of Annie though. Leo sighed. "I guess we'll have to head back to the train. It's getting late."
When the gang reached the train, the ringmaster looked over. "Oh, there you are. The track is fixed, so we can be on our way."
"Okay." Leo answered sadly, before walking towards the boxcar. He was just about to step in, when something caught his eye. "Wait, what's that?"
It was one more egg. A silver one with orange music notes, like Annie's microphone. Just then, a giggle was heard from in the boxcar. "Is that who I think it is?" Quincy asked.
The troupe entered the boxcar, and inside sat, you guessed it, Annie! "Hi guys! Enjoy your Easter egg hunt?"
"Wait," Leo started to say. "Are you saying-"
"Yeah! I saw that you were bored, so I hid the eggs for you to find!"
"Well, that actually was fun. Thanks!"
"No problem. That's what Easter Bunnies do!"
With that, the boxcar closed, and the train took off. Leo looked over at Annie.
"Annie, you're the best Easter Bunny ever."
The End
Welp, that's that! I know it was short, but I think all my holiday stories are going to be oneshots. Anyway, please review, and Happy Easter!
