Remus' Burning Troubles

The orb shines brightly in my eyes,
And the pitch black night cannot hide these fireflies.
As it grows bigger I begin to pail,
I feel as though I'm always too frail.
Don't tell me a joke about the sky,
'Cause you might catch that evil glint in my eye.
I try to hide it – to calm the storm,
But as the orb gets full I must change form.
There is no going back, there are no second chances,
I've just got to claw and bite as my alertness enhances.
In a shack of wood made just for me,
I don't belong here – I should really flee.
Flee from the kids as they study and learn,
As that orb shines down my skin begins to burn.
Flee from the students carefree and delighted,
As Hogsmead fears the howling from when I was a kid.
I do not deserve to sit here and learn,
While my insides boil and threaten to burn.
