A/N: A short little poem I wrote about the main storyline of the Mystery Dungeon 2 games, which, I believe, has the best storyline of any Pokémon game thus far due to depth of characters and development.
It's late and I have a history final tomorrow (technically today). I realized that I was late in keeping my promise to put up a piece in early May, and since it was already written, I figured "What's another lost half-hour of sleep?" So here you have it.
Disclaimer: I don't own Pokémon, even though the word "Pokémon" or any word related to the franchise is not mentioned in the following work. So why did I bother to put this here?
"When Time Freezes Up"
When time freezes up,
No wind blows through the trees,
And no warmth comes from the sky.
Everything falls into a darkness
From which new dawn never comes.
I have seen this future.
The land lays silent, cold and stiff,
Without contrast, muffled in ageless gray.
Even life is like a dull reflection,
Choked of its sheen and wonder.
Fields, a reminder of bygone forests
Once vibrant in life and flush with green,
A still-life of the day the tower fell,
Never moving, never growing,
The dew, fresh-fallen long ago,
Having beaded and dropped from its perch,
Never to reach the ground,
Suspended in air between grass and leaf,
To mark the never-coming sunrise.
It will be the complete ruin of the world.
May I never see it so!
I'll make time flow again,
And let the light in glory shine down,
May life flourish, die, and be reborn,
And the wind shake the leaves!
We are off to save the world,
You and me my friend.
In this world of adventure and mysteries,
Through darkness, and spanning time.
We'll collect the pieces, right the clocks
Pass all obstacles and drive the way
To reach the focus, climb the tower,
And get the gears moving again.
A/N: Well, what did you think? Should I write more poetry? Any glaring errors I missed?
