Love Is A Tragedy
She sat on the windowsill with tears rolling down her cheeks. His name was echoing in her mind; Scorpius.
"Why in the world did I let him go?" she thought. "He was so wonderful."
She pulled the green and silver blanket tighter around her shoulders. She wished that he had not taken back his green and silver jacket. That had kept her warm for months, and it had smelled of him. A sob escaped from her mouth, and she turned down the radio her grandfather had given to her. Sparks Fly by Taylor Swift was playing; the song they had danced to at the Yule Ball.
"No," she whispered. "I can't do this." She got up and grabbed a hairbrush, pushing it through her long, wavy mane. Her icy blue eyes closed as she swiped her makeup brush on the lid, coating it with violet shadow. Her lips were rose-red. She had made herself even more beautiful than before, which is saying something, because she is drop-dead gorgeous.
"I'm stronger than this. Now, let's show him what he's missing."
She walked out into the Great Hall; her head held high, her lowest cut shirt on, hips swinging, and a smirk on her face.
"Hey boys, shut your mouths before you catch flies."
A group of first years looked on at her with wide eyes. One was daring enough to stare without shock; he whistled. Just for fun, she kissed his cheek. His face went bright red. She laughed, then turned on her heel and left.
She sat gracefully down on the bench. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw him staring at her. She turned to her best friend's brother, Matt, and started flirting, making sure that Scorpius could see and hear everything.
"Hey Matt. How are you doing on this lovely night?" She batted her eyes and tossed her hair.
"Hey Misfit. Doing well, but everything brightened up when you came in." Matt winked and playfully put his arm around her.
"Hey Misfit! Are you and Matt dating?" a Ravenclaw called out. She winced at the nickname, but smiled.
"Nah, not yet anyway." She winked at him. Scorpius glanced at them, then quickly left the table. She smirked in victory, and settled back for dinner.
