There aren't many things that Elizabeth Weir is certain she will never forget.

Her first trip to Disneyland when she was eight years old is near the top of that list; the excitement and possibility that magic just might be real was enough to have the young girl smiling and laughing the entire day.

Her first trip to Paris when she was twenty-three; not the city itself but the airport, the number of people milling around, shouting, greeting each other in such a vast number of languages was so overwhelming that she had sat in the airport cafe for over an hour trying to take it all in.

Sitting in the White House, after talking to the President about the Stargate Program, the feeling of inadequacy, the realisation that she had just accepted the leadership of the most important endeavour in human history; the fear that she may screw it up.

Most of the events during the storm their first year at Atlantis has since become a blur to her, but Elizabeth would never forget the knowledge that Kolya, this stranger, had such power that he could end her life with a twitch of a finger. And that life would continue, even if she did not.

And this moment, here, now. Sitting across from Rodney in the mess hall as he talked to her with that smile of his, some times gesturing wildly, some times leaning in to share an observation only with her; sitting across from Rodney as he flirted with her so blatantly. The happiness, excitement and nervousness of this moment was something she was never going to forget.

And neither was the feeling she got when she flirted back.
