"Hey Mikomi. Wanna make a bet?" asked 15 year old Yumi Seguchi. Daughter of Tohma and Suguru Seguchi. Mikomi Uesugi, a year older than her cousin, Yumi, looked quizical at her cousin. "What kind of bet and what do I get if I win?" she asked. "It's a bet to see who can stay awake the longest out of 3 hours and if you win, I'll let you give any guy at school my cell number. And if I win..." Yumi's face sprouted an evil smile. Mikomi was about to back away. "Hahaha. If I win, I get to tell everyone that 16 year old Mikomi Uesugi still sucks her thumb when she sleeps!" Mikomi gasped. "You wouldn't!" Yumi smirked. "I would." Mikomi's eyes widened. "PAPA!" she screamed and ran to find her parents Eiri Uesugi(a.k.a Eiri Yuki) and Shuichi Uesugi. "This is gonna be fun!" Yumi thought.
Yumi met at Mikomi's house at midnight, seeing as it was summer vacation. "You ready?" she asked. Mikomi smirked. "I was born ready!" Shuichi turned to Yuki. "She acts so like you!" he whispered. "I heard that! But don't worry Daddy! I have your bipolar...ness." Mikomi smiled. Eiri walked back to his study. "And they wonder why I'm still alive..." he muttered.
"Alright. There's a time limit. The limit is 3 hours. Whoever falls asleep before then, will be disqualified." Yumi said. "Ready, set, GO!" Shuichi said. Tohma, Suguru, and Shuichi were looking from one teen to another, seeing who would crash first. But from the looks of it...this was going to be a long night.
1 hour later
Yumi and Mikomi had already drank two pots of cafene coffee and both teens look like their about to pass out.
2 hours later
Mikomi's head was about to hit the table when she heard a loud bang fron infront of her. Yumi's head smashed against the table and she was snoring lightly. "Yes! I won! I won! Looks like I'm gonna be giving your number to Kisuke, Yosuke, Sora, Misaki, Taka, and the biggest nerd in all of high school...TAKESHI!""
Tohma smiled and picked his daughter up. "She really shouldn't have had those pots of coffee. That makes her really tired." Suguru hugged his niece and said goodbye to Shuichi. "Bye Uncle Tohma! Bye Uncle Suguru!" Mikomi called. When the door closed, she sat on the couch, completely exhausted. Shuichi smiled and went into Eiri's study. "Eiri. Come congratulate your little winner." Shuichi stuck his head in the door to find Eiri in his chair with his arms on the dest and his head craddled in them, asleep. Shuichi smiled lightly and walked over to kiss Eiri's head.
When he walked back into the living room, Mikoimi was already asleep on the couch with her stuffed Kumagoro that her Uncle Ryuichi got her for Christmas. Shuichi walked over to her and pulled a blanket over her and kissed her cheek. "Goodnight my little winner." he whispered, before he himself went to sleep beside his daughter.
