A:N- Hey guys! Right basically, I'm a huge fan of the Iron Man films and just generally Marvel movies, so I had to write a couple of fanfics about my favourite couple - PEPPERONY! Hope you enjoy it and if you like this one, please check out my other fic I posted today, called "The Feelings of Iron Man."

Peace x

"It's you. It's always been you."

As Tony Stark uttered those words as he made his personal assistant CEO of Stark Industries, he meant so much more than just her being a worthy successor. He meant that he thought of nothing but her when he was captured and imprisoned by the Ten Rings. That he only longed to just speak to her once more. That the moment he saw her, eyes red and a smile gracing her face, that he just wanted his cheeseburger and then be with her. That he purposefully made himself a better person for her. That he turned down girls who still continued to flock at his feet. That he stopped the one-night stands just for her. Because she's the only woman he wants that with now.

That he now knows how badly he's treated her. That when he was dying, he wanted to tell her so badly how much she truly meant to him. That when they finally kissed whilst his expo was in ruins around them, that it was the most wonderful kiss he's ever experienced. That when they finally arrive back at his house, when they curl up together on the sofa and she falls asleep, that he's never been so content in his entire life.

That when he's watching a video feed the next day of her whilst he was in captivity, he's so guilty by what he finds. Her. Sitting in his bed with one of his shirts wrapped around her. Crying.

There's also another video feed of her in her office. This is the same day he's attempted to set things right with her and brought her strawberries. He sees the strawberries, strewed out on the floor. He sees her take one look at them, and again she bursts into tears.

He's heartbroken – because he's hurt her. He's determined to make things right, make her realise what she actually means to him when he turns round and she's there, standing, her mouth gaping at the screen. He can see the tears threatening again and he's holding her within two quick steps, clutching her to him. He's saying utterly how sorry he is for everything, how stupid he's been then everything comes out. He tells her every feeling he has for her, he tells her just how long he's felt this way and that he realises just how lucky he truly is. Then he utters those words again, when he made her CEO – so now she can realise what he's been trying to say along.

"It's you. It's always been you."

She then silences his babbling by pressing her lips to his and once more, like the evening before they are kissing. When they finally come up for air, he tells her the three most important words he's ever said, the words he has wanted to say for so long. And she says them back, and he feels light, so light. Because it has always been her.
