Hey everyone! My first doctor who story! I know it's short, I actually wrote it as an under 500 words challenge for my writing club, and I liked it so much, I thought I'd post it here. ENJOY!
BANG! A gunshot. A pain in my chest. I can't feel my fingers. That can't be good. I can't breathe. My vision blurs. I hear people calling my name. Why do they seem so far away? Someone stands over me. He's crying. Is something wrong? I try to ask him, but my voice won't work. "What's going on!?" I scream. All that comes out is a croak. He leans forward and whispers in my ear. I can just barely hear him. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I should have told you sooner. I love you." He sits up and kisses me on my forehead, then backs away. I feel warm. It starts in the tips of my fingers, then moves up my arms. It spreads through my whole body. When it reaches my chest, it feels like I'm burning. I see a light. A golden light. Am I dieing? There is a bright flash of light, and I go blind. All I can feel is pain. From the tips of my toes, to the roots of my hair. Hell, even my hair hurts. Just get it over with. Let me die already. Suddenly, the pain fades. With it, the light. I feel weird. I stand up. Why do I feel so off balance? Everyone stares at me. He looks at me with love and wonder in his eyes, while everyone else seems shocked. I fill my lungs with air. Ah, so refreshing. I reach down to feel my chest. No blood. "What happened?" I say, completely confused. He walks towards me, and brushes my ginger hair out of my face. Wait, ginger? I'm not ginger? I look up at him, confused. He smiles at me, softly at first, then he beams at me. I smile too, but it feels funny. I run my tongue along my teeth, and furrow my brow. Something is off. He laughs and says simply "New teeth. Weird, huh?"
