Blaine looks at his watch. He's late. He adjusts his scarf and looks around the parking lot of the coffee house. He said he left the airport an hour ago, he should be here. Thoughts of all the things that could have gone wrong swirl through Blaine's mind. His car could have skid into a ditch. He could have crashed. He could have realized he doesn't love me and turn back. He could ha… Then he sees him. Half running half walking, he is crossing the street, black peacoat fluttering behind him like a blackbird's wings. He is wearing the sliver combat boots Blaine got him for Christmas. They really stand out against his black pants and black coat. His scarf is red and white. The colors of our old high school. Blaine sighs. He's absolutely breathtaking. He has always thought of Kurt as this amazing being, and, now more than ever, he truly believes it. He can't stand waiting any longer. He leaves the spot where he was standing and breaks into a full run, risking looking like a complete idiot. He doesn't care. He stops right as Kurt steps on the sidewalk. "Hi." He says. "Hi." Kurt responds. They pause before falling into each others arms. They haven't seen each other in months, since Blaine left for his final year at the University of Michigan. Kurt is starring in an off Broadway play in NY, hoping to get on Broadway. In just a few months, they will be in New York City, living, singing and acting together. They finally let go of each other and start walking down the streets of Chicago, holding hands. "So what are we going to do first?" Kurt asks. "Well we should probably get dinner." Blaine says, tearing his eyes off Kurt to check his iPhone. "And then we can go back to my place. I have a surprise for you." "Blaine Anderson." Kurt says in his dramatic style, "You know I hate suprises." "I think you'll like this one. " Blaine says. I hope he thinks. He feels the small box hit his leg, reassuring him that it is there.
They sit across from each other in the booth, empty pasta bowls in front of them. "That just might beat Little Italy." Kurt says, a full happy grin on his face. Blaine smiles. He worked hard at finding this place. Its almost impossible to see from the street, you have to know someone to get in, but it's the best pasta in Chicago. Blaine pays and they walk down the street. "Do you want to walk to take the subway" Blaine asks. "Its not too cold, lets walk." Kurt says, grabbing Blaine's arm. They walk slowly down the street, a little drunk off the wine, a little drunk off each other. They talk about superficial things until they get to Blaine's apartment. When Kurt opens the door he sees the room filled with candles. He turns around and see Blaine closing the door. When the door closes, and acoustic version of Katy Perry's Teenage Dream starts playing . Blaine recorded it a few days ago in his friend's studio. "What's going on?" Kurt asks. "Well I've been thinking." Blaine takes Kurt's hands, "We've been dating for 5 years now. I know we love each other very much. You have been there for me when I was going through bad times with my father. You were there when I got accepted into U of Chicago. You were with me in the airport on the way to Chicago. You have been there for all of my big moments, and I have been there for all of yours. Now, there is a moment we should share together. Kurt, will you marry me?" He pulls out the ring, a sliver band with a small line of diamonds all around it. "Oh Blaine." Kurt says "Of course I will marry you!" Blaine and Kurt embrace. When they pull apart, Kurt slips the ring on. "It gorgeous. And it fits perfectly." Kurt says. Blaine looks at his fiancée and know that this moment will be etched in his brain forever. He is forever Kurt's and Kurt is forever his.
