What would happen if Ian came back to save Amy from the cave in Korea? Even fifteen minutes too late, he could still make a lot of difference. Read on!
As Amy and Dan descended the mountain, they had no idea that the fate of the world hung in the balance. A certain someone was there just fifteen minutes too late. But not too late to keep Amy Cahill from seeing the face peek out from behind a tree.
Behind the tree stood Ian Kabra.
Natalie Kabra ran through the woods, dart gun in hand. Somehow Ian had vanished from before her very eyes. Kidnapped? Not likely. It seemed he was openly defying her. And Mother. And putting the fate of the world at risk.
Just then she saw a flicker of movement. Raising the gun, she yelled "Freeze!" Then she saw who the gun was pointed at.
It was Ian.
"And just what," she said silkily, "is going on here?"
"Dan," said Amy, "I think I just s-saw…"
"What?" replied Dan impatiently.
"I-I-Ian"
"Oh, great." Now you're hallucinating." said Dan, rolling his eyes.
"No, Dan, I'm serious." From up the mountain they heard a voice. "Freeze!" it said.
Amy went rigid. "Dan. Run. Now."
They bolted up the mountain, or at least Amy did. Dan looked like he was being mentally dragged. At the top, it was just like Amy predicted. Natalie Kabra was holding her dart gun on Ian with an expression somewhere between anger and "come on, Ian, you can't be serious".
"You are in sooo much trouble, Ian," she said evilly. She did not see the Cahills, at least until Amy stepped directly in front of Ian, which warranted yet another eye roll from Dan.
"What the—" exclaimed a shocked Natalie, who was now looking at Amy with her "come on, you can't be serious" expression. Her finger tightened towards the trigger.
"You. Will. Not." Ian stepped out from behind Amy.
And slapped Natalie across the face. In half a second, Ian had the dart gun and was pointing it at Natalie. This time Dan did not roll his eyes. In fact, this scene was getting pretty awesome. Natalie getting whacked in the face? Cool but old. But by Ian? No way.
For the first time since getting trapped in the cave to die, Amy looked into Ian's eyes. She could see it—he was coming to save her. Not them. Her. But Natalie was talking to something—an earpiece?
Yes, Mother, you will need to come immediately. We're having a bit of a problem with Ian.
