As we gazed across to the twilight, I asked, "You said you got your memories back, right, Jellal?"

He didn't look up, but he clenched his hands tighter than they already were. After a few seconds of silence, he answered with a simple "Yeah."

"Then, about Simon, too?" I could see he slightly flinched, and his eyes swelled up with regret.

"I killed him."

I still couldn't bear the memory of my childhood friend, Jellal, brutally murdering Simon right in front of my eyes.

The wind blew faintly, but just enough for small grains of sand to reach our eyes, and causing them to water. I didn't rub my eyes, because I didn't want it to look like I was crying. I turned towards Jellal and asked him another question, a question I definitely needed an answer to.

"Can I think of you as the 'old' Jellal and treat you that way?" Again, a few seconds hung in the air before I got my answer.

"That would make me happy… but there's still what happened with Simon. I wouldn't blame you if you kept your distance. And if you wish to take revenge for Simon's death, I'm prepared to lay down my life."

I turned back away from him and told him "Do you think that's what Simon would want?" My voice started to rise; "You formed a group in order to get rid of any people lusting for revenge. That's how you're atoning for your sins. That's what you're prepared to do!"

He looked up to the horizon, and whispered, "I don't know…"

"What?!" My voice came out so loud that I'm pretty sure the people on the beach could hear me.

Jellal turned towards me at last, "Certainly, I created this group in the beginning to make amends for my sins. But there's no way I can make up for what I did. What am I doing this for? I can't get out of this labyrinth of my mind." I started walking towards him. "Maybe I should just die."

I than ran in front of Jellal, and slapped him with every ounce of strength I could force into my hand.

"How can you talk so cowardly?!"

"I'm not as strong as you are."

"So you can't live if you're not strong?! Wrong! Living shows that you're strong!" I grabbed his shoulders, still shouting at the top of my voice "You're not the old Jellal! You're not the Jellal who struggled desperately to survive!"

He turned his head and barely audible, told me "You may be right…"

I grabbed him to make him stand up, and pushed my lips towards his. He was stunned at first, but then started to return my kiss. After what seemed like hours, I pulled away; just realising I was crying tears of happiness.

"Erza?" Jellal looked worried. I smiled at him, and attached my lips back on to his.

As you can tell, I slightly changed the ending. Instead of the whole-falling-down-the-hill-and-kissing scene, I made Erza kiss Jellal instead. Sorry it's short, but I couldn't do that much. Thanks for reading!
