Disclaimer: I don't own…
Remus Lupin looked up at the sound of the fifth year boys' dorm door opening. He breathed a sigh of disappointment when he saw that it was James Potter.
James looked hurt. "What did I do to warrant such a response?" he asked, glancing around the room only to realize that Sirius' side looked worse than it normally did.
"It's not you," Remus muttered, glaring darkly at Sirius's corner. James took the hint.
"Well, if you don't mind, I have Lily to go comfort after what happened with Snape," he said, backing unceremoniously toward the door.
Remus perked up at that. "While you're at it, could you send Sirius up here?" he asked sweetly.
James shuddered, not liking the expression on Remus's face. He went into these brooding fits every time someone mentioned the incident.
"Uh sure, if you want," he stuttered, turning fully toward the door.
"Just don't hurt him? He's already upset enough about it as it is."

Sirius perked up after hearing Remus's request, but his expression dropped as James explained what he thought was behind it.
"Well, if what you said about my side of the dorm is true, maybe I better not go up," he said, getting up off the couch to hide behind it.
James shook his head, trying his best not to laugh at Sirius's terror-filled face. "I'm sure you're going to be fine," he said, helping Sirius off the ground. Sirius shook his head.
"You don't know anything about Remus," he said, "if he's really that pissed at me about a stupid prank, then I'm going to be in big trouble if I go up there."
"Well, for one thing, it wasn't just a "stupid prank," as you put it, it put Remus and Snape's lives in danger, not to mention the last two years of your time at Hogwarts," James said, getting annoyed with Sirius's denial.
Sirius sighed and nodded his head, finally taking responsibility for his actions the week before.
"I guess I better apologize," he said, looking at the boys' dorm stairs.
"Well, go take care of it," James said. He dropped his head to the back of the couch with a much-bereaved sigh.
A/N: my first attempt at Remus/Sirius… I think the highest rating for it is T for language… um, review!
