It was kind of funny, really. After all these years, she was fighting him again. The same dark eyes full of a mixture of hatred and pure exhilaration stared back at her as she watched him from the smoke. She had fired a Cero Double at him and he still stood, as beastly as ever. When she had used that technique on him in the past, the man would have been gone…

But even beasts could learn a few new tricks. The woman stood, grasping her sheathed sword and staring him down as he cried out,

"…. That number on your back is meaningless now!"

Canta per me ne addio,

Quel dolce suono,

De' passati giorni,

Mi Sempre rammenta.

Ah… the battle continued. Her speed and strength weren't far above his now. He had moved from eighth to fifth in the amount of time in which she had been locked away in a child's body, traveling with Dondochakka and Pesche around the desert. Even now, she was having a hard time fighting him without releasing.

'Even with the release, I'm not sure if I can fully defeat him… ' The woman brought her blade down, striking at him, doing her best to fend off his relentless attacks. Sweat dripped from her brow and down her cheek as she continued to attack, defend, attack, and defend. The dance continued on…

La vita dell'amore,

Dillete del cor mio,

O felice, tu anima mia,

Canta adagio…

During the fight, her thoughts drifted back to the time when she had been far above him. Their fights in the desert were nothing to her then, just a mere irritation. He would demand that she kill him, but she always refused time after time. Her lips twisted with effort as she pushed and skidded away from him. 'It's different this time, though,' the woman thought. 'At this rate… I won't last much longer.' Her fingers curled around her swords hilt as she pulled it from it's resting place. This battle was much different than those they had so long ago. Her pale lips settled into a grim line.

Tempra la cetra e canta,

Il inno di morte,

A noi schiude il ciel,

Volano al raggio.

This battle was so much different than those they had fought so long ago. A feeling – was it fear? – twisted in her stomach as she acknowledged the fact that she could die this time. However… it didn't stop her. Ichigo, Orihime… they couldn't fight.

And she wanted to thank them for all that they had done for her…

Drawing her blade up in front of her, Neliel looked at her opponent – the beast – Nnoitra – one last time before calling out two words, ones that would either save her, or only prolong this bloody dance until he cut her down.

La Vita dell'amore,

Dillette del cor mio,

O Felice, tu anima mio,

Canta addio…

"Declare… Gamuza."

A.N.: This was my take on the battle between Nnoitra and Neliel. Somehow, I don't think it turned out quite as well as I thought it would, but I like it. Anyway, the song is "Canta Per Me," by Noir. I really love the song. I guess that makes me a sort of depressing person. Hoped you enjoyed it.
