An Angel
I used to think you were just a child.
A normal human, nothing more.
But then I saw your true self.
I know you are an angel.
I never thought I'd learn to love.
I never thought I would feel kindness in my heart.
But you came down from heaven,
And kept my heart from going astray.
I believe angels exist now.
Not because I've seen Angemon and Angewomon.
I believe because of you,
And the kindness you show to me.
My heart was filled with evil,
And power-thirst before I met you.
I looked into your eyes and began to think,
"Could I be wrong about everything?"
Love is what you show me.
Kindness and empathy too.
Your soft voice sounds in my mind,
As I think of all things good and pure.
I first found you were an angel when you said you loved me.
It would take an angel's heart to love an evil like me.
Willing to give your life for everything,
Is something only angels do.
I used to think that evil was all I had.
I was given a ray of hope.
It was you.
You came from heaven to save me.
My soul was saved by an angel.
I never knew angels lived on Earth.
But I found one under the name I shall never forget.
The angel called Shinji.
